Sorry to hear that Tea. It's always rubbish. I have always tried to reassure myself that all interviews are good practice.

I've been in a mega funk. We turned up for out scheduled appt last Thurs. Checked in using their whizzy new electronic system. Sat and waited. An hour after our appt time a receptionist called us over to tell us that our consultant left a fortnight ago. Cue some crying, lots of apologies and no solutions. Only today (following a lot of politely firm phone calls) have they managed to 'squeeze me in' on the 27th. At one point they were threatening to make me wait till December. To say I'm cross would be a major understatement.

Doesn't fill me with confidence. Anyone here got any experience of Queen Charlotte, Hammersmith?

Hello ladies, may I come and join you?

Me and OH have been ttc since April 2013. It's not been plain sailing so far, in that since we decided we wanted a family we have moved house, sadly lost OH grandfather, and my mum was diagnosed with breast cancer, which luckily was dealt with and she's ok now.

I have PCOS and so we have been referred to our local hospital for tests, though how long we will have to wait is anyone's guess!
So far OH SA has come back as good, so apparently all the problems lie with me, as blood tests have shown very low progesterone levels on day 21 - though I guess if I don't ovulate due to the PCOS this is to be expected?

I'm sure once things start moving forwards I'll have lots of questions, although I hope you all aren't here for too long!

Sorry tea, at least you got to interview.
Well done on telling your boss picklein, I've found it helpful for a select few people at work to know what's happening for us, takes the stress off a bit.
floaty how annoying. I sometimes think these clinics see so much infertility they don't realise quite how emotional it is for their patients.
Welcome Laura hope your stay is short and sweet.
  • Ack sorry to hear that tea, like everyone said though it's good practice and you must've been pretty darn good anyway to get to the interview stage xx

Hello Laura, sorry you find yourself here but everyone is lovely so feel free to ask/chat/moan about anything you want :) I'll pop you on the lists if that's okay - I'm on me holibobs in Edinburgh at the mo though so I'll update them all at the weekend.

Hugs to everyone (and sorry for not doing a proper name check catch up thingy, I'm writing this on a small tablet sat in a Wetherspoons :o ) xxx

Delurking to say I'm at QCCH for ante-natal care and the appointment system is a mess! They put in a new system about 4 months ago and still they can't use it. Drives me crazy. One day they managed to create two booking windows for the same clinic. So the whole day was double booked. I have learned myself what needs to be done (from their discussion) and have to ask at the end for confirmation of which clinic, in which sub category etc.

And never just sign in on those machines. They forget you, or send you to the wrong place. I also waited an hour once, and then was told I was late! The machine wasn't actually connected to the reception. That's fixed now but I don't trust them.

My advice us just don't take no for an answer. You stand by them looking sad and just keep saying, but it HAS to be soon. They give you a sad face, you give them a sad face, it goes on a while until they find a solution to get rid of you!

On the flip side the care by the doctors had been excellent, and I've heard they have amazing IVF results. I went to C&W and got lucky, despite pretty poor stats there.

To everyone else - I miss you!! I keep lurking and hoping. Our little IVF trio from early Feb are going strong and TCD is very close to having the baby. We all still can't believe how lucky we are.

Hehe, it always confuses me when people say they're on holiday to my home town. Let me know if you need any pub/restaurant recommendations. There is an absolutely amazing cheesecake shop too. Going there for lunch today and have no idea what i'm going to put in my MFP app but as I've lost 10lbs since last Monday, I think I'm ok to treat myself.

    Welcome aboard Laura!

Sorry to hear that Tea, but cheer up, you weren't even sure you wanted the silly job! Now you don't have to worry about taking it (not probably what you want to hear atm though, sorry)

Floaty, that sounds rubbish, I get so cross with medical people being so incompetent!

T2D, lovely to hear you and the gang are doing well!
