Definitely, why can we never seem to have good news.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0

I don't post all the time as now we have given up on ever getting a BFP and are going through the adoption process I don't feel I have much to contribute but I do still follow and read this thread.0 -

Good luck Primmer. A girl at work has just adopted three siblings aged 2, 4 and 6. They got them in February, going from no kids to three! I know someone else who adopted their second, after it took them ten years to have their first naturally.
It's an incredible thing you're doing - I look at the lives these kids are having compared to what they would have had if they'd grown up moving round a series of foster homes (not to downplay the incredible work that selfless foster parents do, but it's not a great system) and I'm so pleased they found families who want them so badly. At the moment I've got no desire to adopt and I feel guilty when I think of all the kids in need out there!

I had my ultrasound this morning and they told me I have fibroids and to wait for the consultant to contact me for an appointment. Does anyone know what this means for fertility as I am scared to google :-)
Hugs to everyone xxx0 -

PM hope you are getting alrightSealed Pot Challenge #9550 -
So I visited the fertility clinic last week and am going on thursday for two hours to get my medication and learn how to inject myself. The consultant we saw (no names but a very good one) said we would start on 225 gonal f and have possibly ICSI instead of IVF.. all very exciting0

Hi Ladies, sorry I haven't been around for a while.
I had my fibroid op back in February and there's been a bit of a recovery process since then. Since I've not been allowed to TTC, I've taken it as an opportunity to have a little holiday from all things TTC-related.
I've been trying - trying - to not think about it too much but I'm now recovered and I dusted off the cbfm this week.
To be honest, it's been nice to take the pressure off a bit and nice to drink coffee and wine without stressing!
I've popped in every now and again, I hope you're all doing ok.
Jammy26 - regarding fibroids - as far as I can tell it depends how many you have and how big they are. I was told that about a third of all women have them. They don't always cause symptoms so some women go their whole lives never knowing they are there - so please don't panic! My understanding is that they don't necessarily prevent conception but they can affect the embryo from implanting and they can cause issues during a pregnancy. If you only have a couple of little ones they probably aren't worth treating and they will just be monitored. Mine were pretty huge and I'm small so they had to be removed.
Please feel free to ask me any questions and I'll do my best to answer.
(Sorry - I know you're not supposed to give medical advice. I hope I've not broken the rules)0 -
Thank you Clevernamehere. In some ways I am pleased they have found something that might be causing a problem as at least then there is something to put right.
I have now had a look at google, I don't have any of the symptoms associated with fibroids so for now I am going to assume they are not too big or too many of them!
I am planning on ringing my GP later this week as he is copied in on my results and is a lovely person (I am very lucky indeed!) and asking him how many and how big, then I guess I just wait for a consultant appointment.
Primmer, I am a social worker and sometimes have to look for adoptive families for my children, I just wanted to say good luck and don't forget what a wonderful thing you are doing for a very lucky child as the care system is not a good place to be.0
