Fairy dust - the Zita West ones I found on Amazon worked out to about £30 per month for both of us. Are these the same ones you took?

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zita-Vitafem-90-Veg-Capsules/dp/B0056PJIY8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398768681&sr=8-1&keywords=zita+west+vitafem
Vitafem for me - 3 a day so that bottle lasts a month

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zita-West-Vitamen-Pack-Capsules/dp/B008DVXIMA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1398768748&sr=8-2&keywords=zita+west+vitafem
    Vitamen for him - 1 a day

I saw that there's also something called DHA which some people take in addition to Vitafem.... Has anyone done that or did you just take Vitafem/Vitamen?

    Confusing!

Might give them a go though. I read that you're meant to start them 3 months before treatment so we're just about in time. Can't hurt! I'll only get a month's worth in case we don't react well to them. Thanks for the tip SewIt - I'll price compare with nutrisun!

Zita West supplements... Utterly confused. What do I need of the following?

    http://www.nutrisun.co.uk/brands-zita-west~251.aspx

So, Vital Essence 1, 2 and 3 are for pregnancy, so we can ignore those. The Revital thing is post-pregnancy.

We could take all of the following, based on the descriptions:

Me: Pregnancy Plan, Vitafem and Vital DHA

    DH: Vitamen and Vital DHA

Do we take them all or are some of them the same as each other?

    Hello (shy wave)
I wonder whether you lovely ladies would mind if I came to join you please? Ive ducked in and out once or twice and never really settled. Ive tried the other ttc thread, but found that I was bothered by people worrying about whether they would get pregnant as they had been trying for ages (about two months) and then would get pregnant the next month.
Ive been trying for my second baby for over 4 years now, with no success. DS1 is 6 and he was conceived naturally the first month of trying, so this was completely unexpected and I have struggled to accept it at times.
It seems that we have unexplained infertility. Tests have found nothing wrong. Initially it was thought that DH had a low count, but his subsequent tests came back fine, so they dismissed that. My tests were all fine, so no clues there either.
We dont qualify for any financial help with assisted conception of any form, so that is a no go for us either. We are currently spending each month hoping and praying for it to all come to nothing.
Sometimes I think I have accepted the fact that it wont happen, and then someone around me will get pregnant and it bothers me all over again.
So thats my story....I hope you dont mind if I hang around here???

Hi mrsvicx - you're more than welcome here. :)

I'm unexplained too but it must feel crueller when it's your second, both because it doesn't seem to make any sense and because of the lack of NHS support. :(

What you'll get in here are lovely people who understand how you're feeling and won't come out with some of the ridiculous comments you must get from other people at times!

Welcome aboard mrsvicx, as always, we hope your stay is short!

I to have unexplained infertility and its so confusing, I keep wanting to scream "If there is nothing wrong why aren't I pregnant!!" and the hope/upset cycle is very draining. You say you don't qualify for any financial assistance, is there no way you can self fund a cycle? I guess the NHS wont fund any as you have one child already? (The gits wont fund me anyway as I'm to old :()

GTS - 11 is GREAT! Hope your ET goes smoothly :)

I prefer to think of unexplained as "unexplained by current medical science". Surely there must be *something* different about us. Just something that scientists don't know about yet...

I also assumed the lack of funding was because it's a second child. I have friends who are unable to conceive and have a DD conceived by NHS-funded IVF. They're saving to try for a second but will probably only be able to afford one cycle so there's so much pressure on it.

I can understand that IVF is expensive and the NHS has to draw a line somewhere but it still seems a bit rubbish. :(

Thanks for the lovely warm welcome :)
I have struggled with people who either ask why I want an only child, or those that tell me my DS is now too old for a sibling, or tell me that I am lucky that I even have 1 (I KNOW that, its part of the reason that it is so hard!) I would never want DS to think that he wasnt enough for us, and for us to have IVF would cost about £7000 and we just cannot justify that kind of cost when we could spend it on DS (as hard as it is and as much as I would love to).
My MIL was brilliantm until recently. I have a SIL and we all assumed that she would have no kids as she is very career focused. She got married last September and is now pregnant. I think MIL thought we were her only chance of more grandchildren (she is fantastic with my DS and loves him dearly) and was so helpful and willing to listen to me moan for ages about everything.
The first time I spoke to her after I found out about SIL (of which I was nothing but pleased, and excited for them all) she told me that SIL had been so worried about telling me becasue she didnt want to upset me.
MIL told me that she had told her not to be silly and that she wasnt to worry about upsetting me and that it wasnt her fault that I coudlnt get pregnant......
Now, I may have been a little sensitive about it all, but I havent mentioned it to her since. And I wont mention it to her again. Ever.
I dont think I will ever be able to forgive her for it.
