:eek: Isla that is a completely outrageous and insensitive thing to say especially to someone that is supposedly a friend, I am incensed on your behalf! How anyone can say that someone who is prepared to put themselves through the hell that is IVF, even once, 'doesn't want it enough' is utterly beyond me. I know its so hard but you have to ignore the ignorant comments like this one.

Take all the time you need lovely, its such a lot to take in and if its too soon to think about next steps then that that's just fine. Focus on what you and DH need right now.xx

We recently had a close family member ask why we don't just adopt and I was so shocked and hurt as you expect these people to at least try and understand. I just said "for the same reason you didn't" and left it at that.

I wonder if anyone here has had treatment at the Zita West clinic in London or knows anyone that has? I've heard they specialise in recurrent IVF failure and considering the possibility of a cycle with them in the future (probably going to take a long ish break for sanity's sake so maybe 6-12m down the road). I'd be really grateful to hear from anyone that has.

They claim to have 60%+ success rate(!) and I am losing faith in our current clinic, I just don't know what more they can offer us and saying it's 'bad luck' is wearing a bit thin. ZW claim to be able to do more investigative work on other potential issues such as immunology and seems to take a more complete approach looking at lifestyle etc. Obviously I don't know if its all balls :rotfl: but at this point I'm willing to try most things.

Isla - I can't believe a friend would say that to you! Maybe she didn't mean it how it came out, but I can't see what she was trying to say. I'd have been upset too - I don't think you're over-reacting because of the hormones!

Thanks PM, WW and pink I really appreciate your replies. I didn't think I had overreacted but wanted to check. Unless you've had first hand experience of it all, I don't think anyone really understands how gruelling this is physically and emotionally. My friends seemed to think it was this magic treatment and that that would be that. It makes me feel very lonely and extremely grateful that I have you all to talk to

Yep it is Pink, we've got that book and it's quite good but as she's written it herself I'm pretty sure it's biased :rotfl: I wonder what it's really like to have treatment with her, she makes it sound pretty bloomin' amazing.

I've ordered the book and now I've seen the vitamin supplements!

Is anyone taking any supplements (Zita West or other brands)? Tempted - DH has a pretty rubbish diet and they can't do me any harm...

pink we have the pregnacare conception dual pack. It contains 30 days of tablets for DH and you.

I have to say I haven't had so much as a sniffle while taking them.

isla I cannot believe how rude your friend was. I think we should all save up replies for ridiculous questions like that. It's outrageous!

ww I am using the Zita West relaxation cd and enjoying it. My acupuncturist said that Zita West is selective about who she takes which is why they have such a high success rate. However, she does use a holistic approach and I think lots of couples find that very helpful. They also offer lots of alternative therapies to assist. Good luck, do let us know what you think if you do book a consultation.
