    Am I being told rubbish:

I wrote on T-mobile's Facebook page and asked about cancelling my account and was told:
    Hi *******

I can advise you that the rise you are referring to is a part of the Retail Price index and is covered by the terms of your contract. It is not possible to cancel your account because of this.

    Kind regards
    Dave

Yet, the thread on here and the ee complaints website is telling me differently?

    Hello,

I have received 2 letters for both T-Mob contracts in our household saying that there will be a 2.7% increase prior to 28th May.

This will mean £2.40 extra on the remainder of 1 contract and £17.40 on the remainder of the other.

It is not worth doing it for one of them as I am getting a really good deal with Unlimited everything and it runs out in 5 months anyway, while the other has about 18 months left I think.

My question is whether I can do something about it? And if so what template do I use?

Once I get my PAC code from T-Mobile can I move to EE? Strange question that for most of you no doubt but I don't really want to change providers, just get out of this contract and get a cheaper one.

Both contracts were taken out with T-Mob after/around Oct 2013.

Thanks in advance for your help.
  • You're being told rubbish, why would they post on their public website, "yeah Indie Kid, you can cancel no problemo".

They will make it hard for you, they want you to go away and take their price increase, (as the majority of their customers will).

Best bet is use RC's templates and become another of the thorns in EE's side.

EE is t-mobile, just their rebranded name so I imagine you wont require a pac code, it would just be an update of sim and account?
Not 100% sure, so maybe one of the others will confirm.

    Thanks for this.

Having read earlier there were some differences between people getting rise in March and others getting it in May so I wanted to make sure this applied to us.

I understand that T-Mobile is EE however they are also acting as separate entities at the moment so wondered if getting a PAC from T-Mobile and giving it to EE would work?

I have sent the email from #44 - my contracts are from november and december 2012.

I think I !!!!!!ed up though as I sent the price rise request first (by mistake)- hopefully they will ignore it and not come back to me - it was my fault its been a long day and I should of read things properly.

Also am I too late to do this???

Probably best to go the price rise cancellation route - start on posts 97-99 of the forum linked below:

I sent my email on April 11th but have had no response as yet. Is there a template chase-up email kicking around?

If no response resend the first email, but ad the beginning:

"Further to my email dated 11 April (copied below) I have yet to receive a response) I find this delay unacceptable and would appreciate a response by return."

Write to Ofcom, copy in EE saying that EE have failed to comply fully with BINDING decision from CISAS (include a copy of the COSAS decision), and ask Ofcom what your next steps should be and what sanctions they will impose on EE.

Once that is done if EE still won't pay up then go to the SCC (I'll assist you if you need me)

I have included OFCOM in many of the emails i have sent to CISAS and they tried to help but T-Mobile have told CISAS everything is fine and CISAS do not take any notice of what i have said, they believe what T-Mobile tell them. I have written a letter before action to T-Mobile and have received no response. In my case i had a ridiculous decision in CISAS anyway where they said i needed to pay line rental to someone so I did not get my line rental back, so happy to go to SCC, will fill in the forms next week.
