When I'm nosing round the internet I have to go back to the top of the page before I hit the back button. If I go back without doing it then I have to go forward, go to the top of the page and then hit back.

I have to go back to the homepage before I close the internet, and I have to put the TV back on BBC1 before I turn it off.
  • Me neither! I've been reading all these and everyone but me had been putting even numbers, until now lol! :p The number 4 also makes me feel unsettled too. I sometimes wonder if the odd number thing comes from me having an art and photography background, where everything looks better in odd numbers? Things placed in odd numbers makes for a better photograph.

I too studied art and photography, but I can remember disliking even numbers long before that. Odd numbers of things do look nicer, but also if you have an odd number of something you can pick out the middle one and I like that (now I sound even weirder!).

I'm glad someone else feels the same as I do about the number 4!

If I have watched something scary, I always have to switch it back to something 'normal' or lighthearted before turning the telly off :)

    Aren't we a weird lot :D

  • I always leave about an inch of coffee in the cup, I cant drain it completely, also I can't eat a whole banana, I have to leave the pointy end bit and any brown bits on it.

When people plait horses manes traditionally you plait in an odd number because the eye supposedly breaks an even number in to two groups, so not flattering the line of the neck, making it look like it doesn't flow or has an awkward angle in it, so we plait in odd numbers (Nd the forelock ...a horses fringe...makes an even number).
  • have to sleep with covers pulled over my neck....can trace this back to primary 4 (aged around 7 or 8) and there was a poster on the wall of Mary Queen of Scots next to the guillotine !!!!

also car radio MUST be on an even number and also on a certain channel before I change to a cd.

I have to have the duvet cover hoicked up and folded under so I can put my head on it even though I have 2 pillows. OH is always fighting for his fair share!

I count stairs as I go up or down and also (this is going to sound weird) if I'm looking at something I have to try and follow the straight edges round with my eye to get right around it with nothing in the way. If something is in the way I move until I can do it.
I've done that for as long as I can remember. :o

If I turn round, I have to turn back the same way to kind of 'unwind' myself or I feel weird. I always have to walk with my left arm linked in whoever I'm with, doesn't feel right if I'm on the other side.

I must have loads of weird things but they feel so normal to me I don't recognise they are weird!
  • I can only stop reading a book if the page number is divisible by 3. I usually eat biscuits in 3s. Clothes have to be turned the right way out before hanging out to dry, and coat hangers have to be the same way round. With books, fiction is alphabetical, but non-fiction is in categories. All drawers and cupboard doors have to be closed, but all room doors must be open (.with the exception of loo and bedroom doors when people come to stay, of course. Don't like touching people that much - unfortunately I work in an industry where social kissing is normal and I spend a lot of time avoiding it. A bit suspicious of fruit, especially when it gets ripe. Otherwise very normal and relaxed.
  • I can't stand the textures and smells of certain foods. The smell (or even thought) of hot milk will make me gag. Can't bear soft fish (like plaice) yet I can eat sashimi but only certain types - anything chewy sets me off. Overcooked vegetables, ugh. Mashed potato, no problem. It was worse when I was a child and as a result I was as skinny as a rake, and now I seem to be getting fussy again - looking forward to the weight loss!

I am completely paranoid about getting to the airport on time.

Our 100s of books, CDs, DVDs are all in my own "filing system" which is completely unfathomable by any other living human. I know where each item is!

This thread tells me: There is no such thing as normal.
