Hiya Sassy,
I'm off tomorrow I'm not sure you will see this but have a wonderful time xx
Thanks for the update on what services you all use. I will be phoning and haggling when I'm back from my hols.
I'm somehow still not using my cc. We have had 3 birthdays this month, Mother's Day and a hen party. I've managed to keep everything reasonable low expenditure. I get paid end of the week and have £20 to last til then. I've got absolutely everything for my hols and I won't be buying anything at the airport except a bottle of water after the check point. I have sweets etc all brought from bandm so the twenty in my bank account should sit there until payday.
I wasn't able to clear my cc, I had cancelled too many overtime shifts. So I will clear it on payday instead. I can't wait to see the £0 balance. I will then close it was going to keep it but it's a 39.9% interest card. It's not doing me any favours. I have an emergency fund now which I'm building on each month.
I'm off on hols tomorrow so next update will be in a week or so xx
Thanks again for letting me know about the broadband services you use ladies. Xx3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

Hi all I'm back!!
Had a fantastic time away spent a little on my cc but I've paid it off straight away so my cc balance is zero!!!
I'm so chuffed but unfortunately the car accident I had back in November the car insurance have found me at fault even though I was on the roundabout 1st because he came on he roundabout from the right they are saying I'm liable which means I need to pay the excess of £650!
I could have done without this but its my own fault for putting my excess so high to get a cheaper car insurance. Lesson learnt. So I have a terrible cold but I've had to book some serious overtime to pay for the car insurance I really don't want to use my in case of emergency money if I can help it. Especially as I want to close my cc account.
My signature is up todate, I just need to get over this blip then I can continue to save for the car settlement figure.
Hope everyone else is doing well, I best go and grab a nap before tonight's shift xx3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

Hi all,
Well my app!e tv thing has arrived and I do like it, I am going to purchase a recordable freeview box, I'm looking forward to calling Virgin tomorrow and reducing down to internet only. Tried today but they were closed.
I'm very tired currently on a lunch break at work wishing I could have gone away with the kids and oh (they are in a family caravan for free this week by the sea) instead I'm having to work overtime. Can't wait for the day when I can enough money in the bank so I don't have to do overtime.
Months like these just make me more determined to clear my debt, have a decent emergency fund and have the luxury of living on the previous months wage.
I know my main way of achieving this is to pay off my car ASAP. Part of me is tempted to make overpayments instead of saving for the early settlement figure. It just seems like such a huge amount to save for. With overpayments I know I will be quicker to make a payment with spare?!? Money that I would be moving that spare?!? Money into my savings account. Especially if it's online. I did this with my cc the first time round and would make a payment a week by rounding my account up or down and its amazing how much the small payments add up. I think it would be more incentive for me personally to do it this way so I can see the figure go down. I would love to be able to match my monthly DD amount off my car....
Well I'm now rambling I can see the benefits of saving for the lump sum the difference of £1500 but I know me well and the satisfaction of making regular payments may push me more.
Well that's my stupid o'clock off load.
As usual comments/suggestions always welcome :-) have a great bank holiday everyone xx3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

sounds like some good plans there, with it being a bigger amount, I would go for the over payments, if your anything like me, i would spend it // things crop up etc.
I like the idea of the round up/down, I started that towards dds school trip, I saved £60 in 4 months.... all helps out.
Hope kids and hubby having a gd time, u take care xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Hi all feeling frustrated cc have put my limit up again to £2,500 whats wrong with people!! Every time I reduce my limit they put it back up. I Am going to cancel it but I just wanted a minimum of £1,000 in my emergency fund before doing so. It's going back in the freezer when I finish my shift tonight to remove temptation my balance will stay at zero.
A few things coming up to save for
£650 excess - saved £300
£250 for new tyres - saved £0
£180 home insurance renewal will shop round pay for it yearly
£100 daughters going on school trip aboard shopping needed
£50 sons going on trip aboard new passport needed
£25 sister in laws birthday soon
£162 line rental
I've booked one overtime shift per week for the next month fingers crossed if I keep spending to a minimum I can do all the above without credit.
That's the goal anyway! I can't wait for my virgin contract to end this week to make some changes and pay a lot less than I am now. If I pay my line rental up front at £162 (equal to £13.99 a month) then my monthly goes down to £7.50 instead of £60 (thanks to money mustache for the advice).
That's my update done and dusted, been at work alot putting the wheels in motion for a promotion. Does mean a pay increase will be a bit complicated to sort to begin with but I'm going to go for it.eek!
Have a great weekend all xx3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

I have checked my payslip for overtime this week I should get paid £447.
My oh has a friend in the motor trade who can repair my car for a lot less than the insurance excess . Hopefully the £300 mark :-)
Which means I have enough money for that now I can also get my tyres sorted as the thread I've been told is just above legal so can all be done next week.
Doing my sons passport tomorrow, I need to get some new bras for DD too, I can also pay the line rental upfront with Virgin now too! My hope to do it all without CC may just come true.
If I can continue to use weekly money to pay for the list above then I may just be able to pay a big chunk into my emergency fund. Which may be used sooner than I thought but I will update the rest tomorrow breakte me is over.3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

Okay update time
Oh is going back to work on a phase back few hours per day at first I was worried he might not want to go back but he seems more positive so my emergency fund is safe.
Yesterday I sent of sons passport renewal £58
Couldn't get DDs underwear need a trip to m&s
Going to a wedding this week we are all putting in £15 towards the monetary gift, I have nothing to wear, really there has been so many hen party's, weddings and bday celebrations I've worn every dress a few times. I will look on ASOS later find a £10 special.
Got another wedding in the summer to stay at hotel was going to cost me and a friend £70 each to share for one night. Instead we have found a tlodge down the road £21 each xx Im so pleased to be invited to the wedding but my wedding abroad is a week before need to be sensible.
We may be going on a family holiday to New York end of August going for quotes today will also get quotes for a beach holiday too see which one will be cheaper.
My car is getting repaired next week and I will ask oh to sort tyres for me too. So that's £500 for all that to be sorted.
Monthly car DD went out today so signature updated.
I'm sure tv contract finished today need to chase that up and get the ball rolling with the changes.
I've gone on enough I'm sure. Have a great day xx3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68
