Trixxibell wrote: »Hi all,
Doing overtime tonight so another short update, daily PAD of £16.10 to emergency fund.
Forgot to add student loan was meant to start to be taken from my wages still hasn't ??? I will call again next week.
Still waiting to hear from manager if I can have the week I want off. really want to book the holiday then I can pay it off every month. OH gets paid weekly and he will pay by s/o into my account.
I have barred all outgoing calls from the house phone except for 999 and free calls. I'm getting annoyed with the cost of calls. Paid my final full bill on last package and it had £15 worth of phone calls. Everyone has a mobile they can use that. if they don't want to spend their money topping up their phones I don't see why I should pay the short fall. its £2.25 a month for barring so its a lot cheaper than the cost of calls.
That's my update that was meant to be short lol. Will update my signature on Wednesday on my next day off. Doing two overtime shifts this week so should be able to hit the emergency fund target next Thursday and the additional £50 to the car account.
Enjoy the bank holiday guys xx
Might be a bit irrelevant but can really recommend 08 Wizard for smart phones if you're making calls to any 08 numbers from mobiles. App costs 69p, most 08 numbers are on there and it gives you the landline number and you don't have to pay through the nose on credit/top-ups then! Worth a look if it's relevant to you! I've saved what must be £100s on it phoning different companies etc. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Thanks sauce o clock I will look into that. Hope your well xx
I have slept post night shift and woke up feeling more determined to reduce my debt ive re looked at my outgoings still some shaving off that can be done.
I have cancelled my health plan at £23.50 a month this covers dental work, glasses etc you send in your receipt and get a percentage back. I no longer wear glasses and my dental work doesn't add up to the amount paid out over the years. It did include a very minimal life insurance cover but I've already got one elsewhere.
Feels very good to get rid of that always try and convince myself I need it. But with an emergency fund I can use that if I'm stuck with a big dentist bill.
So with getting rid of Virgin at £60 a month and reducing that to £6.50 (+£2.25), getting rid of this cash plan at £23.50 per month I'm waiting for a call back from my bank to get rid of the account I have got £10 monthly fee. I will be shelling out £85 a month less which I will be ploughing towards by debt. I just have to find a better life insurance quote is my next job.
Can't think of anything else I can get rid of at the moment. But I will have a look, a good read of Mr Money Moustache always gives me a reality check with my debt. Can't wait until next month I will be able to attack the debt even more.
Feeling very motivated today will update on any further changes I make new SOA will come once I've spoken to the bank.
Used the bank call back option so the call is free:money:3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

Morning hon
Just caught up with your diary for the last 6 weeks and looks like you've had a fab trip and come back with even more determination.
I'm completely convinced you'll achieve all your targets by end Dec as you've stated as I remember you saying the "I need to win the lottery" statement and actually, you didn't. It's a great feeling isn't it!!
Have a good dayxx
