BIG NEWS:j
I'm so proud I've just reduced my credit card limit by another £1,000!!!!
That means my current limit is £1,000 :j:T:j it was £3,000 at the beginning of my journey I'm so pleased.
I'm taking my cc to New York as a back up I know if I went with a empty card with a £2,000 limit I would have spent on it. I'm removing the temptation before I even get on the plane.. I'm looking forward to updating you all when I get back that I haven't touched it:)
I'm working on the remaining balance of £900 then I will reduce my limit to £500. I will then just use it for fuel and clear it each month to repair my credit report.
That's my days ramblings complete.3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

Good morning,
Not going into work today as OH not well.
Thinking ahead he was going to be dropping me and my friend to the airport when we go away but he keeps getting palpitations and panic attacks lately so I'm going to use a coach service instead I think. Ease some of the pressure off him at the moment. Ive had a look at the fares are reasonable will book this afternooon.
I have made a payment though of £400, to cc today £100 less than planned due to above but at least it's going down.
I spent most the night reading about clearing student loans early or not and after reading Martin Lewis guide. I've decided not to pay off my loan any earlier. I will focus on all my other bills and then concentrate on saving for a mortgage.
So today I'm going to remove it from my debt total. Feel a fraud doing it but I've read up on it and it seems the smart thing to do.3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

The thought of removing the student loan from my debt total is a little unsettling think I may rethink.
Any opinions on clearing student loan early would be gratefully received :-)3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

Hey hon
Sorry to hear OH isn't well, hope he gets better soon.
Student loan. I've not got one myself so am only writing from what I've heard and most of that is from Martin Lewis! From what I gather paying it off early isn't as good as paying off any other debts. If it was me I would keep it on my debt total as it is still a debt. But I'd put it to the bottom of the pile and concentrate on the other bills/mortgage as you said.
Not sure if that helps but good luck!x

OH had a relaxing day his got new meds to try so fingers crossed.
I know my next OT pay should be enough to clear the rest of my CC! So my aim after New York is to save for my car settlement figure.
I've joined a saving thread to get into the mindset of saving rather than throwing money at a debt and seeing immediate results.
This next challenge is going to be slow and steady.
Depending on OT being available I could squeeze a couple of shifts into next week. That would put me on track to having £1,000 in the emergency fund.
March's paycheck = try and leave as much in bank to have a surplus of 1 months worth of bills (YNAB philosophy will allow me to live off previous months wages and stop living paycheck to paycheck.

Nothing to report finance wise. I'm just getting on top of school letters updating the calendar etc. making sure everything is uptodate and in order before I go away.
Chased insurance company again yesterday waiting for a call back today.
Got the house to clean so really should get off the Internet and get on to it all.
Have a good day everyone.3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68

Had a busy shift last night was so tired today slept til 3pm.
I'm struggling today trying really hard to talk myself out of buying something I don't need. Think I've managed to resist the temptation although my fingers are literally tingling to click buy. So I thought I will come on here instead.
In fact I'm going to clean and pack my hand luggage to take my mind of it, hate, hat, hate that I love buying things on a whim. I will remain in control and not buy the iPod i really really want.
Instead I'm going to take all the photos off my iPhone as it keeps telling me
I've got no storage space, which is why I want an iPod half my iTunes aren't downloaded because of lack of space, delete any apps I don't use and voila problem solved.
I love this site just saved £110 (I was going to buy a refurb one from argos on ebay). Instead I'm going to problem solve.
Sorry to anyone who just had to read my self turmoil and ramblings lol.3rd LBM July 2014: Debt [STRIKE]£31,416.68[/STRIKE] Down To: [STRIKE] £23,403.43[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]15th July: £25,709.83[/STRIKE] 26th March: £31,229.68
