What is this £55 gift of dreams, anyway, and who is it for? Could you have got it for less or with a bit of cashback :money:.0

It's done, and you are managing without it...have a talk and let it go.
It's not like you can go up to the relative and demand the gift is returned so you can have the cash back

This is so funny Victory, (not the problem with OH obviously) but only yesterday I was wondering how you were and thought it had been a long time since we had a Victory family saga thread

Anyway, aside from the fact that he spent £55 without consultation at this time of year when the world and his wife are finding things tight, you do have to give him 10/10 for thinking up a gift all by himself. Now he's shown that he's quite capable you should expect nothing but wonderful gifts for the rest of your days.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Did he spend less than £55 on you for christmas?
Also I think the bigger issue here is that he didn't tell / consult you first before spending that amount of money, am I right? Maybe he saw the gift, thought it was absolutely perfect and went for it because he's a busy man?
You say money is tight but hadn't you noticed this coming out of the account, or did he buy it from a separate account to your joint one?:www: House Deposit = 100% Purchase Fees = 44%

Any chance he'd had a xmas drink when he purchased it?
is it because he only sees this person once a year he spent more than the norm?
Tbh if it was money for essentials I would have thought you would have missed it before now, clearly you hadn't noticed the sum missing from the bank.
I had noticed ££ short as in how come we only have ££ for x weeks but I would be a liar if I said I had notice the exact sum.
Xmas drink? No idea.
No idea as to why the gift had to be so much either.0 -

I'd be flabbergasted then as to why he bought it, you're obviously making the effort to make sure you're in budget - when he gets home just ask him to be honest. I think it was probably the convenience of seeing something appropriate and thinking well it might be £55 but it saves me looking, so I'll get it, and the reason he didn't tell you was because he knew you would be steamed about spending that amount.:www: House Deposit = 100% Purchase Fees = 44%
