No bust up happening m lord:D To me it's a lot of money, if I had it I selfishly would not spend it on any other than my family ( especially not this month) and if you listen to slippery's version of events it should have been december:D
I've never understood this living month to month thing but I agree I'd not turn down £55 :rotfl:0

We have to this month, outgoings high this month, not every month but jan is harsh here, we don't have cards or debt so that's a blessing:D0

The timing was he was just packing up and leaving so yes technically he was within the working premises but finished work on the way to the commute home:D:D
I get very annoyed if anyone phones me when I am packing up to leave work, as it makes me late for my train. Perhaps your OH feels the same way.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

To avoid this upset and bad feeling in future, can you set up your budget so you each have a certain level of free spends per month. That way if either of you wanted to splash out on something for yourself or other people it could be done with no fuss or bother. Best to prevent drama rather than create it.The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

Relative not vague, family member:D no affair, no lover:D his relative address is the delivery address so no worries there and yes I think £55 is a load of money I would not spend on anyone because I don't have it to spend:D
My brothers buy gifts for their wives and get them delivered to my house. This is purely in the interests that their gifts remain a surprise.
They have even been known to ask me to pay for said gifts if they have been purchased online so that there is no record of them having placed an order or making a payment to a named company, and they then give me the money back either in cash or by bank transfer.
Do you have a birthday or anniversary coming up that your DS would want to give you a surprise gift for? Alternatively, valentines day is just under a month away, so maybe he found something in the sales for you that he thought you might really like
Edit: I see that you have dismissed the suggestion that the gift may have been for you, and that it was a ski suit for an unnamed relative - however, the possibility still exists that he may try to buy something secretly as a surprise for you.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

I never question hubby on what he spends on presents,I just don't see the point in it, he earns the money so it's up to him what he buys with it, Though we have a rule bar xmas and birthdays we let each other know of any over £100 spends. He has never said no nor me to him on any purchases as we are sensible enough to know what we have, we earmark money for outgoing and savings then what is left over we use on whatever we need to.#JusticeForGrenfell0
