quote from your link "you need to tell us as it MAY affect your claim" it does not say you are not allowed.

It also says you must let them know
  • If you're abroad it's feasible that you could look for work by visiting an internet cafe or using a mobile device. It's unlikely you are available for work as you wouldn't be able to attend interviews.

If I was in the OP's position, I'd take the offer of a holiday now, let the job centre know. When they start work it will more difficult to organise a week off.

Presumably, if the parents can pay for a holiday they can help out with a loan if the rapid reclaim takes more than a few days to come through.

Three people have told you your 'information' is wrong and backed up their assertions with authority. You cannot provide any authority to support what you say is correct. You're making yourself look a tad stupid.

    Edit: make that four!

So where's your link to prove you ARE allowed.

You are allowed to do a lot of things and there are no rules to say you can't, I could hop on one leg whilst signing , no rule to say I can't is there.

I've been told you can't, so lets see the rule, a simple request, up to now I've only seem something that says you need to tell them, not that it's against the rules.

True, but don't be surprised if you're surrounded by Security.

my point is, I can't show you a rule on everything you are allowed to do, rules don't work that way, the rules normally state what you are not allowed to do, hence why I have asked for someone, anyone to produce it.

To get Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) you must:
    • be 18 or over but below State Pension age - there are some exceptions if you’re 16 or 17
    • not be in full-time education
    • be in England, Scotland or Wales
    • be able and available for work
    • be actively seeking work
    • work on average less than 16 hours a week
    • go to a JSA interview
If you're out of the country, you aren't in England, Scotland or Wales and you aren't available.

the OP can still look for work aboard, no one says you have to only look in the UK. as long as the OP is still looking for work and will travel back if they were to get a job, I can not see why that would be fraud.

It would be fraud because the law says it would be fraud. Personally I don't think it would be immoral, but if caught doing this the penalty is prosecution for fraud.
