• Many more a customer will complain than compliment.

My usual deliveries are with Hermes and i have never had any reason to complain about them the delivery man is very polite and never lost anything, but when you receive a bad service especially when you have to pay for the privilage to be treated that way, you have to complain.

We've only had Yodel foisted on us a couple of times.

First time we'd paid for guaranteed next day delivery and ... guess what ... the item wasn't delivered. Although it was fun to track it online, being loaded into and out of delivery vans for five days in a row. I bet they did that gently, too, cos you need to do that when it's a bluray player. Gently. Not throw it about so that the box is wrecked, obv.

The delivery man was very indiscreet when he finally appeared, they don't see deliveries to rural areas as do-able when it's more efficient to deliver to towns instead. That way it keeps complaints down, well, from the townies anyway.

Second time we'd waited in for a Lakeland order. And it was delivered on the day it was supposed to be. After 6pm. I didn't realise it was reasonable for Yodel to expect us to wait in from 07.00 hrs to 21.00 hrs for a parcel.

Honestly, I wish the companies we buy our stuff from could give us more postal options, maybe the ability to choose which delivery company we want. Because for all their faults I'd stick with Royal Mail.

What is it about Yodel and BINS.

I was on holiday, and an item should have been delivered before i left. So i checked online tracking while away.

It said delivered - put in BIN. I had to contact my mother to rush round to my house - as the bins were due to be emptied.

This reporter was not so lucky:-

What alternate universe is the Yodel Spokesman in?
However we would also like to point out that MoneySavingExpert.com 's table ranks the carriers according to the 'bad' figure. Hermes achieved a 46% good rating putting us clearly in the middle when it comes to a good experience."

Look at the table on the MSE report.
Yodel have a 22% good rating, the LOWEST good rating and the HIGHEST bad rating. Hermes have a good rating of 46% more than double of Yodel.
Yodel have the LOWEST good rating. they are not anywhere near the middle, they are BOTTOM when to comes to good experience.
Idiots!
• Yodel Direct - what a joke.
Yodel by name - Yodel by nature!

Yodel Direct Complaints email k.black@yodeldirect.co.uk

A 'sister company' apparently according to 'Stephanie' at Yodel.

Bought 48 hour service, paid an extra charge for 'cover' to return a £200 satellite dish.
They didn't turn up, but did manage an email - after we'd waited in ALL DAY - saying it would be collected tomorrow - and upgraded 'for free' to 24!

Next day - waited in ALL DAY again, called them in afternoon, but they'd never heard of my parcel number - still with a bit of jiggery pokery they managed to get the thing collected. Well done!

That's not so bad - I hear you cry!

But - it gets better - they treated the parcel SO BADLY on its short journey, that the strong plastic suitcase the satellite dish lives in was RIPPED INTO TWO PIECES.

Then, even tho I'd bought the 'cover' they started giving me the run around regarding documents and photos etc.

When I finally got that sorted, they said I could choose a) repair quote b) they would salvage it (whatever that means) or c) I could keep the item and agree a discounted refund.
So c) being useless - unless I wanted to use it as a garden ornament - and b) being indecipherable to me I chose a) and got a quote and duly sent it to them.
Their response? To tell me I had to arrange for it to be collected for SALVAGE!!
Why on earth did they even give me a choice then.
I've emailed them THREE TIMES to rectify - no response.
I've tried the ON LINE CHAT with SARAH, who cut me off because she couldn't help me. Unbelievable.

I tried every phone number I could find on line, all the suggestions are ... DISCONNECTED!!
Sometimes I got Yodel - to be told 'we're not the same - we cannot help - use the online help'

SO GUESS WHAT THEY DON'T HAVE ONE!

'we're online only' says the lovely Sarah at Yodel Direct.

So the online chat is useless! and they don't answer their email! PERFECT.

Yodel Direct have got my money, smashed my property and I cannot do anything because they are on the internet only, except they don't know how to use it!!

Instead I've got to print stuff out and write using 'snail mail' to an address that's probably been disconnected too!!!
Very modern and online - well done Yodel (not) Direct.:T

Over 1 year at our new address and not one parcel gone astray and the one parcel that was damaged he told us to refuse delivery !
