Thinking of you Jakieo and tinking of her family, such a shame this happens, and always to good people.
I lost my nana last year to cancer and miss her so much every day, especially when I look at my son who she missed seeing by a few months, I just hope she can see him from where she is now.
I hope you remember every memory and giggle when you think back over things you have done together.
God bless Carol, sweet dreams xxxWork like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -

Jackie I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
Someone I work with always says "count your blessings" in such circumstances. There is wisdom in that I think. (((((hugs)))))My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Big hugs....Having lost a few very close people know how hard it is & have now come to the concluson that even though I miss them because physically they are not here by remembering them & talking about them they remain in some way alive with us through memories....Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! I'm relatively new to the OS board (you all seem very very close) and just wanted to pop on here and say thank you all for the wonderful advice.
I've followed quite a bit of it and i've bought myself my first bottle of stardrops today. don't have any microfiber cloths yet but am sure will find some.
I don't yet have a bread maker (but i do make bread often so maybe i won't bother with that), I do have a stick blender (lovely soup), don't have a slow cooker (can't figure out the money savings benefit of having one yet, and i have been trawling these threads)...oh dear, i forgot to buy vinegar at the store (will have to wait until i've run out of fabric softener then get it then)
anyways, just wanted to say thank you all.:T :T :T :T :TMFW Newbie - #17. (#116 in 2019)

Well a slowcooker at £9.99 (using vouchers etc) uses very little power to run even if it's all day
You'll most likely find it uses less than an oven or a hub... It's EASY
Most of us like the convenience it offers where we can chuck everything in in the morning and come home to find dinner ready cooked after a long day at work.
It's easy to cook a bit more than you need meaning you can freeze leftovers and have instant meals easily.
I have yet to add Stardrops to my own collection but next time I need cleaning stuff it's high on my list! Vinegar rules! As does baking soda and soda crystals
Next time I need washing liquid I'll buy soap nuts so there are loads of options for OSing
As for people being quite tight... well I guess we/they areBut everyone is welcome!!!!

Hi there! Welcome to Ol style, we are a very friendly crowd really, just leap in and come and join the daily thread it really helps you to focus on what needs doing each day.
I love my slow cooker! Had one gathering dust for years until I joined this site, now I have two!:o In the winter they both get used, little one for puds and mulled wine and the larger morphy richards one for huge portions of stews etc that I can freeze away for later. My sister managed to get a 2nd hand slow cooker for £4 at a car boot sale so doesn't have to be a big expensive layout either.
I found microfibre cloths in Poundland and also in Aldi. I have yet to try stardrops though.
