I am a bit of a lurker, but I have to thank all of you wonderful people - since finding MSE I have looked at my life a little and made some big changes - grocery bill going down - slowly - it has to. I am planning a career change and starting an open uni degree in October. The OS board has inspired and helped me to start really saving money - I've always been into cooking from scratch - but have been very wasteful. I now own a SC - love it. BM used almost daily. Just cannot seem to empty freezer- get bargain - freeze - bulk cook...............................
My favourite post is the nosey looking at kitchens one - should post mine - live on a boat so officially it's a "galley" but not feeling techie enough to attempt that at the moment. What is really funny is that my kitchen space is huge compared with that of some landlubbers - don't have range cooker - but we all need a dream. ....

Anyway thanks to all of you lovely OSers - I might try to be brave and join a daily post sometime!

You should post on the daily thread, I'm sure we'd all love to hear how different your living arrangements are!:D

We're all very friendly and as a "new face" myself I can say you'll get a really warm welcome! Give it a couple of weeks and it feels like you've always "lived" there.

    Hope you'll post soon.:D

Like I say - I've been lurking a while - and I think you are a lovely warm bunch of people. a bit addicted and might get the sack if I don't stop coming on here while at work! DP and DD away this weekend so home alone - (miss them badly - but enjoy own time gladly - have decluttering (HELP) to do before starting OU degree - otherwise will be distracted and not get on with it! My living arrangements are not so different to those of a landlubber - we have mains electric on our mooring - but get creative with candlepower and barbecues when out and about!

    Hi JBB
Think your idea of decluttering before doing OU is great. I am also doing OU degree and you would be amazed how I get the urge to go and clear out a cupboard or go and do some batch cooking when I know I have an assignment nearing its deadline, talk about avoidance tactics!!
Just been doing some flylady decluttering myself to try and get focused, it def does help you to concentrate if things are organised around you.
Love the idea of living on a boat, that is something i have thought about for the future. What type of boat do you have is it a narrowboat, or houseboat type. Ive been hooked since spending time on a narrowboat in skipton.
love to hear about your way of living.

Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet...
  • A 'thanks' from me, too; planning meals and actually having enough left in the cupboard for a proper meal on the evening before I go shopping is an epiphany!
