  • Surely if not getting pregnant was a top priority then, by your standards tiddlywinks, not having sex would be the best option.

You can say that a foetus is not a baby but you can't say that it isn't a life.

Its certainly alive, but the definition of 'a life' is not so clear.

She, like thousands of others, chose to take that risk. She could have used condoms as well... but, no, she took the risk.

I have a real problem with people not taking responsibility for 'falling pregnant' like it's a big shock that the pill didn't work... Why the shock? It's not 100% effective.
    .

Neither are condoms. I would say the majority of people who are on the pill don't back it up with a secondary method of contraception.

Fair enough, if you miss one or have a stomach upset or sickness, then have another method to hand, but usually most people just use the pill only.

Re your other post, 3 methods of contraception? Seriously, that is one of the stupidest things I've heard in a long time.

I'll admit, at first I thought the OP was a troll, but only because the mention of benefits. But after following this thread, I now believe she is genuine, and apologise for being so harsh in my OP.

Depends on your definition... Would you tell someone who miscarried at this stage that their foetus was not alive?

    Of course it's alive.

People who have abortions are well aware of that!

If you only use the pill you need to understand there there is a very real risk of pregnancy.

The pill is not 100% effective.

If, as with the OP, pregnancy is absolutely the last thing you want... take some responsibility and use a 'belt and braces' approach.

    This situation was entirely preventable.

What makes me laugh the most, is all you people saying the OP was a troll - and threads like this get out of control....

Yet 18 pages later its all the SAME people posting.

You'd think the people moaning about troll threads 'getting out of hand' would of left by now for it to die at least...
People don't know what they want until you show them.

If that's directed at me, then actually, my above post was only the second time I'd posted in this thread, and that was only to express amazement at TW's 'use 3 methods of contraception' comment.

And if that doesn't work there is abortion.

I don't see you offering yourself up to help the poster with a child, just banging on about contraception which is beyond the point now. Just as bad as the people outside the clinics.

I guess we'll just be going round in circles and no one will really agree with another's point of view, but what I will say is, I hope you never get in a situation like the one mentioned by the OP, although I guess that's not an option, as you probably batten down the hatches by the sounds of it!

I'm still puzzling over 3 methods of contraception that could be used together....

Someone on the first page mentioned that it might be a wind up.

That doesnt mean other people dont think its genuine and thats not why the thread is getting out of hand now.
