Orange-horror itemised phone bill from Canada

Hi Macman,
I texted Orange to find out what I was using - all fine there. I checked continually with orange to find out whether I was overstepping the data usage. The answer was no. The Angel App said the same. So I can't answer your question about how much I was using when no one actually told me 'you're using this amount of MB'?0 -
It takes time when roaming for the charges incurred to get back to your own provider.0

Unlike the data counter in your phone, Orange doesn't have real-time information on exactly how much data you're using, so asking them is a bit pointless. It is dependent on how long the Canadian networks take to bill Orange for your usage, which could take hours, days or even weeks. Your phone tells you the precise amount of data that you used. How much does it say you used?lulubelle41 wrote: »I texted Orange to find out what I was using - all fine there. As I originally asked, if anyone has had 99,999,940 bytes on their bill? If they have, do they understand where it came from and what it means?0

My guess is that 100MB is the maximum that the Canadian network is able to bill at a wholesale level in one transaction, so your theory is kind of correct. Bear in mind that the amount they charge Orange per megabyte will be a tiny fraction of the £8/MB that Orange charges you, otherwise even Orange's £15/30MB bundle wouldn't be viable for them.lulubelle41 wrote: »As I originally asked, if anyone has had 99,999,940 bytes on their bill? If you want to resolve this, you'll need to tell us how much data your phone says that you used.0 -
I also asked -
Is it possible to use 572.20MB a day, let alone in a minute, if NOT watching a video, nor downloading songs, nor casually browsing the web, nor downloading 100's of photos to facebook or sending 100's of emails?0 -
It's not possible to use any data at all if you have Mobile Data turned off - why didn't you turn it off? Turning off Data Roaming should have the same effect in Canada too.0

So have you checked / did you check on your handset how much data you used?0

What's the point in buying a roaming data bundle, then turning the data off?Humphrey10 wrote: »It's not possible to use any data at all if you have Mobile Data turned off - why didn't you turn it off? Turning off Data Roaming should have the same effect in Canada too.0 -
Whether I turn the data on or off is not what I am asking.
What I am asking, if it's not too much trouble is:-
Is it possible to use 572.20MB a day, let alone in a minute, if NOT watching a video, nor downloading songs, nor casually browsing the web, nor downloading 100's of photos to facebook or sending 100's of emails?
AND - asking about the amount of data allegedly used:-
However, on one day at 14.21; 99,999,940 bytes of usage was detailed (= 95.3673MB) NOT just once but FIVE times. Totalling 476.84MB and costing £3814.69.
The following day, at a strangely coincidental time of 14.21; 99,999,940 bytes of usage was detailed NOT just once this time, but SIX times. Totalling 572.20MB and costing £4577.63.
This is just a two day example of the itemised bill. This happened on many days at different times, such as 07.46, 19.42 etc. My bill exceeded £30K including a travel bundle of £15 a day for 30MB.
However, on other days a totally random amount of bytes were used at random times totalling £59.03 - which to my mind is slightly more believable.0
