I was doing till you tried telling me what you "thought" the op meant, you have no idea what the ops situation is, or the ops thinking behind it.
post your thoughts and opinions by all means but don't pre-empt others thoughts as it just confuses the issue as pulliptears did by hijacking the thread.Arlandria606 wrote: »What Flyonthewall said.

Actually I find it very helpful when others post what they think I meant. It's excellent feedback for how clearly I've communicated my point.
You also have no idea what my situation is, but seem to be happy to call me a whiner, compare me to reproductive body parts, and presume that you know what behaviour I should and shouldn't be okay with, all of which are unnecessarily rude and rather presumptuous. I'm not saying you have to agree with me, but there's a polite way to express it, and you've clearly no idea what that is.Cashback / Freebie Sites I Use:

OP - you said that the seller messaged you yesterday and you also replied yesterday and that the item was delivered this morning. Is it not possible that the seller just hasn't read your message? I find that private sellers often only check their messages once or twice a day.
Good point about not seeing the message, although why ask if you aren't going to look at the message beforehand? Unless they assumed the buyer would say yes, which was obviously a bad assumption.0 -

I agree however I think that it is more likely than the seller just turning up anyway knowing that the buyer had said no.
I would assume that the seller just assumed that it wouldn't be an issue and again without knowing how the seller worded the communication it would be hard to know.
There seems to be a lot of 'assumption' going on - must be something in the air :rotfl:0 -
OP, I'd say you're best off seeing if the item arrives and making sure it's fine if it does and go from there.
If you feel it's needed perhaps send a polite message to the seller regarding the earlier situation. They may be more careful in future about just dropping round with parcels. If they reply, depending on what they say that may also sway how you feel about the situation.
As for feedback and stars, well like I said at the start of this post, see how things go from here and if you feel they still deserve negative. You have plenty of time to leave feedback. Remember that any stars lower than 5* can really hurt a seller. Stick to facts in your feedback as well. Hopefully you'll get the item and it will be fine and as described.0 -

They worded it like this:
"Is it ok if my husband drops this off tomorrow as he will be in that area?"
Definitely a question, not an FYI. For the record, my response was "Sorry to be difficult, but no, it's not okay - please could you post it as you would usually do".
I don't know if it was an assumption and they didn't check, or whether they got my message and ignored it - either way, the outcome is the same.Cashback / Freebie Sites I Use:

Thanks for the suggestionsPerhaps negative is too harsh and neutral is more appropriate - certainly a lower communication score, since she asked me a question and ignored the response, and he (who was acting on her behalf) yelled at me. The seller only has 20-something feedback ratings and is clearly an individual rather than a company, so maybe they're just not used to being in this sort of situation. It doesn't excuse it, but I'm aware that how I handle it might affect the outcome, and I'd rather it be positive long-term.

I have delivered items up to 100 miles away after jumping in my car as soon as payment is made . The buyer is usually overjoyed and offers me a cup of tea which I politely refuse.
This may seem a bit extreme but I have been so disappointed with all delivery systems.0 -

Agreed, so long as the item does arrive and is as described.
Quite possible. With only 20 feedback low stars will certainly hurt them if they're not careful. However, sellers should know the rules before selling and feedback is there to give a true reflection of the experience the buyer has had. Not getting angry and threatening people should be obvious and not just with ebay transactions.0
