It seems a combination of the effort of the marathon and the rest before and after it have been productive. Bashed out a personal best at my local parkrun this morning, hitting 22:28. Was hoping to break the 23 minute barrier soon, so as you may imagine, I am quite pleased with myself.
In other news, I'm up to 893 km for the year. Still ahead of target, but the rest weeks have slowed my progress somewhat. If you think of it as 'us' verses 'them', then it's probably your side that are the villains.0 -

I've done just under 300k for the year. Have really struggled this month and am not really sure why.

I seem to be going backwards
I've gone from running three times a week, in all weathers during the winter, to averaging once a weekin my somewhat very weak defence, my distances have got much farther than they ever were
4 months ago I struggled to run one minute walk two, now I can do 6 minutes easily.
No particular reason why, just because I suppose. There's always been a reason but nothing specific, probably more like excuses
I'm going on holiday in two weeks. I am taking my running kit with me but need to pull my finger out now and get a wriggle on!
Hope y'all are doin better than me :rotfl:
Edit- I went out for a two mile run/walk after posting, and it wasn't as hard as I'd expected it to be. Much less walking and more running

Made a point of making it a long run at the weekend, and relieved to find that my fitness hadn't deserted me (and I'm back on yearly distance target). I suspect it was the only thing that stopped the scales moving in the wrong direction this week too. Going to try and get back into regular (at least 2-3 times per week) running habits again.2021 Targets

Ran Milton Keynes marathon yesterday. It's these few days after that are really the killer, running Manchester last month and getting injured has really thrown off my training and reduced my mileage. But am hoping for a short run tonight and to get back in the habit from next week.0
