I've found that signing up to races helps with mojo.
I have given that some thought recently, I don't think I'm far enough into my "training" to give that much serious consideration yet though. I'm only barely doing 2.5m per run! Hopefully the warmer weather when it gets here will help with consistency. My other half is very supportive though and that does help some with motivation (most of the time).£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000

t all my friends think I have lost the plot !
A friend of mine pretty much said the same thing to me when I mentioned a half marathon. This is the same man who once suggested I run from Plymouth to Newton Abbot (roughly the distance as a full marathon) when there are no trains.Sealed pot challenge #232. I'm ashamed to admit that I skived off all last week! However, I've arranged with a friend to start going for long walks once a week (or more if she can but she works strange shifts so isn't likely to be more than this very often). She has back trouble so can't run and I thought it would be a good way to mix things up a bit.
We have a rather well known hill on the outskirts of town that we can climb, and there should be fantastic views from the top now that the clocks have gone forward!
I've also booked myself a massage for 2 weeks time so if that isn't an incentive to try and work off some extra lb's I don't know what is!£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000

I nearly cried when I had my first massage done.:o
Just under 50 miles for the month. Club tonight. If I run another 2.5 miles, that's 50 for the month and just under 150 for the year.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Just curious - was the masseuse a bit too heavy handed or was it the idea of stripping off for them that was too much for you? The first deep tissue massage I had years ago they thought they might actually have bruised me the muscles were so tight. I've tried to keep up with regular & more gentle massages since then, but had to have a break since last Nov due to tight finances. Unfortunately christmas wasn't kind to my waistline, however, it's my cousin who does them so I'm sure she won't judge, even if she is a skinny bean!£12k in 2019 #084 £3000/£3000

Monthly update from me, 18 miles this month, so up to 44.4 miles for the year, which is just under 18% of my yearly target.
Hoping to up the miles now the weather is improving, plus need to start running after work as this are just runs on the weekends.
Good to see everyone making progress.2014 running challenge 587.4 miles / 250 miles0 -

In his defense, my muscles were very tight - that's why I almost cried. I didn't find him to be heavy handed at all.

I did 5k tonight :j :j
In 42 minutes
I wasn't planning on 5k, it just kinda happened. Now the evenings are lighter, I've started to run on grass- I don't think I like it, my body certainly doesn't
Will that change do we think? Will I get used to running on grass?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards.
