That's what I've least come across too, the only things I remember snippets about is being careful with alcohol - I.e pumping if you had more than a small amount before feeding, and a few certain strong flavour foods can affect the taste. I wouldn't have thought unless you are really malnourished or something it would make your breast milk like 'bad' can't think of another word.
I think if you'd had enough alcohol for it to be a problem for the baby you'd be physically incapable of feeding them in the first place. The concentration of alcohol in breastmilk is the same as that in your blood and the legal limit for driving is 0.08% so you'd have to be pretty drunk for it to be significant in your milk.

hi ladies, just a quick update to apologise that I have queue jumped...
baby boy born at 5.32am on the bathroom floor with help of OH and some lovely paramedics who arrived just as head appeared.
Spent day at hosp getting checks now back home typing one fingered with baby on boob. Will do proper post tomo with two hands.
love and luck to all, esp kerri, not had a chance to read back over new thread so don't know if anyone else has delivered.
Congratulations! And  at presumably unplanned homebirth - I'm guessing it was a pretty quick birth?

Ah ok. It was just that I thought Id read something that said if youd had more than a certain amount you should pump and get rid of it first, but I cant remember what that amount was. Maybe it was just being over cautious?

    Ohh congratulations hun!! :j:beer::j
    So happy for you xx

With regards to the bad diet tbh I thought it was odd when MW said that to me as I never heard it before, definitely not malnourished not all 12st of me anyway :rotfl:, no kind of intolerances known, just an unhealthy fear of food:eek:

lush - I can't get my head round wearing a bra in bed, even a size 8. I think I have that pack, I've found where my chest has changed shape during pregnancy that the elastic at the bottom is a bit too tight now and I have to take them off at the nearest opportunity. I've gone braless all day today! Even in the supermarket hahaha.

Trust me... When the proper milk comes in you won't be going braless with b00bs that size. Mine are an e/f and I made the mistake of going braless the other night - cotton of my nightdress rubbed my nipples so much that I leaked right through and soaked the bedsheets!

I believe the advice is to pump and dump if you are skipping a feed so that you keep your milk supply up. You can feed after having a drink 'as soon as you feel neurologically able'.

Congratulations Ellie! Bloody hell your birth experience sounds impressive... I'm presuming that all is well given you're at home and happily feeding away :) I love meeting ladies at work who've had unplanned but successful homebirths - they come in with that expression of 'look at what I did all by myself :D'

Ditto - I've taken to sleeping on a towel, and that's with a sleep bra and regularly changed breast pads! :o

The advice I was given at the breastfeeding workshop was if you want a glass of wine then you should have it straight after a feed to give the longest possible time for the alcohol to get out of your system before the next feed

If you want to go out binge drinking then you should express before you go out for baby to be fed then in the morning express some and dispose of it before feeding baby again. She didn't say an exact amount, just a binge drinking night out

Think I've just lost my mucus plug but wasn't blood tinged so not sure. It did look like a couple of the pictures on Google though and there's an image search I never thought I'd do lol

Makes sense. I have no plans of binge drinking though I was more thinking along the lines of if I had half a glass of wine as Im a complete light weight :)

Oh wow! Yeah I did a google search of that a while back when I had the bleeding and stuff and was really worried. I think the fact so many people take photos of it is the scarier thing!

Maybe Little Lowe will be coming in January and not feb? At least you are almost full term now!
