Thanks for all the info on piercings-I got up this morning and it was really red, inflammed, and painful with lots of pus, yuk, so I got a doctors appointment and have antibiotic cream for it. Very strange considering I've had nothing in it for at least 5 years, but hey ho.0

Wow. Was going to read back from when I last logged on, but seems we've had a lot of activity in a week so have given up trying to work out where I last read and will start fresh from here!
Thanks to whoever updated me on the list, will work out how to write a birth story when I next feel human again!
Alexander was born at 37+1 taking me completely by supprise as I started day 37+0 in the office!
I keep looking at him in disbelief, he's so tiny and perfect and I cant quite believe he's ours!
We're having some weight issues as he lost too much and having been re-weighed today has lost slightly more rather than gaining, love how each midwife tells me something completely different and they all have the ability to make me feel like such a bad mother despite trying to follow what the previous one told me to the letter!
Congratulations to the other new mums, and welcome to anyone who has joined in the last week!0 -
Just noticed on the list that after Birdie there's no due dates for two weeks! Wonder if there'll be a lull after a bit of a rush we've had lately? Or whether some of the little ones will be along early!!
If anybody gives birth before I do I'll be less than impressed!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
BWP, nipple stimulation may not have been advised against earlier like the others but was definitely mentioned as a natural method to prompt labour. Castor oil was really warned against due to the serious dangers of taking too much.
Birdie, I was in Lush earlier looking at bath bombs when one of the staff came over and asked if I was full term. She said that a rumour has started that their Sex Bomb bath bomb can kick things off. :rotfl: I said they should change it's name as I was initially more interested in the moisturising or relaxing ones. I bought three though.
Lushlifesaver, how flattering to be asked to apply for a better paying job. I found out this morning that my application in our office restructure got me two interviews for promotion. :j It's really good to know my application was that good as my current role is going. Unfortunately I doubt I can attend the interviews as they're around my due date, so I don't know what that will mean for me which is a shame.
Squ1rrel, well done on your disciplinary meeting this morning. I hate that part of being a manager and had to do something similar in my last week. It makes me laugh when I see more senior managers than me hate and avoid them too.
Mrshappy, how very strange about your belly button. I hope it clears up quickly.
Jenni_fer, congratulations. You've got me nervous as I'm 37 today.Try not to let the midwives make you feel bad, newborn baby weight issues are so common so I don't know why they can't make new mums feel more supported.
AFM, I popped into Primark and managed to get a button top nightshirt to give birth in for £4.50, a bikini in case I get to use the birthing pool for £6 (I only have swimming costumes), and flip flops for nasty hospital shower floors for £1. Great bargains.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -

Yeah but then it has left me in a quandry for months now!
Great news about your application! Surely they can sort something out around the interviews etc though!?
Waiting for the in laws to come round and change a plug socket...don't think it is work cooking until they've been as fil will likely turn off all the kitchen electrics ...or so I presume************************************

Being back at work went okay.. I didn't go in til 10.30 was supposed to be on til 5 but asked to get away at 4.30 as the heat was unbearable.
I'm off Wed( usual day off) and Thursday (Annual leave ) this week so just get tomorrow by then have a few days off. After this week I only have 2 to go.
10 actual work days left now. I am getting quite ratty in work, I work in a customer based environment ( benefits) and I feel I often want to shout ' GO AWAY GIVE ME PEACE I DON'T CARE !!!' which is soooo not like me. Usually I will go out my way to help even when it's not my job to or I will feel sympathy for customers who don't deserve it....0 -
