Oh dear pregnancy hormones. Just watching the ice skating and this couple are amazing, I just cried lol! They're not even British!

Felt the baby move after some coco pops. Going to sort through baby clothing this morning then work this afternoon.

    Morning ladies..

sorry I haven't read back yet. I'm waiting for one of the community midwives to call me back.
I've had the same headache since Thursday and wondering whether I should see someone about it or not. Paracetamol is doing nothing and I tried that 4head stick.

Stayed at home, as sitting in front of a computer all say at work is not going to help at all. :(
 Mini me due March 2014
  • Lol Claire, I cried at Chirpy chirpy cheep cheep on the radio this morning!!!

Hope it's nothing Sjlou, but best to get it checked out!!

I'm seriously peed off with my mat cover replacement today. She's been working here for 10 days now and she's turned up late on 8 of them!! I've got to have a meeting with her today and give her a final warning. If she's late once more this week she's out, and I have no cover!!!
Half of me is past caring but the other half doesn't need this stress right now!!!

Have you taken any paracetamol? Ive always found that 4head stuff useless to be honest, even though people rave about it.

In my last job, a lady was leaving, and her job was being split into 2 as it was way too much for one person. I was given a permanent job and this other lady was given her maternity cover, with a view to review it at a later date.

Within 1 week they had to sack this woman as she turned up late, didnt pay attention, etc, so even though it was stressful for the lady going on mat leave, and it was a bit different in that I was doing half of the job she would be leaving, it worked out best in the long run because the lady leaving was terrified shed come back in 9 months time and find everything completely messed up because of her, so if she cant handle turning up on time 8 out of 10  days then you might be better off without her and let them find someone else!

Thanks girls. I've got a doctors appointment for midday after speaking to the midwife. Paracetamol doesn't seem to be doing anything. And 4head, well it just tingles a bit when I first put it on!!
No swelling, and my blood pressure isn't high. So hopefully its nothing but feel like I need the reassurance.

congrats 9ja! sorry you didn't get the home birth you wanted but glad the little man is here now and you are doing well.

claire - I worry about that all the time too!

birdie - sorry you are feeling frustrated, hope baby gets a move on for you soon.

sjlou - I had severe headaches in early pregnancy that paracetamol wouldn't shift and eventually got prescribed codeine by my GP - so it might be worth making an appointment to see them as it really helped me. EDIT: seen you've got one already!

went to my friends for dinner last night and had arranged to buy some second hand baby stuff off her for £100 - she actually gave me LOADS more, so got: 2 x stair gates, maxi cosi base and car seat, cot mobile (music and lights one), high chair, rocker, swaddling, travel steriliser, some toys, baby sleeping bag, travel cot, baby monitor and baby bjorn carrier! what a star! she is also lending me her beautiful moses basket plus mattress and bedding. feel a lot more ready now.

we also saw an AMAZING family home this weekend. we are going to second view today but I am really excited about it!!!! we'd be cutting it ridiculously fine to get in before baby now, but there's no chain at either end so we'd try our very best! exciting times x

    Morning! :)

Its sunny and I'm feeling optimistic as I only have to get through this week and I'm on mat leave!
Baby is very wriggly and apparently because she's in a back to back position it explains why I feel every movement strongly - here's hoping she turns for birth!
Any bright ideas to get baby on the way? Tried spicy food, walking as much as I can bear, bouncing on my gym ball, even got OH to BD for the first time in weeks after stopping because he found it 'too weird'!
Birdie, my work colleague swears by cod liver oil as it worked for her (yuk imo) and I've been told that eating pineapple and orgasms (not necessary together :rotfl:) work too.

Welcome to the world Ethan! :T and well done 9ja
Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck :)

9ja4life, congratulations! Sounds all a bit scary but I'm glad you and Ethan are well.

Con, I'm struggling to fill my time on maternity leave but I was struggling with my long commute and stressful job. It wouldn't be as bad if we were moving house sooner as then I could be batch cooking, buying furniture, decorating the nursery, registering with new doctors, etc, but I can't do any of that in a flat we're leaving. It worries me I could take nearly another 5 week to give birth, especially when 3 of my NCT have already had theirs. I'm last due and they've all been early. :) I've been in lots of pain and restricted mobility with my PGP. Luckily my hubbie sees how I suffer and is fantastic, but I don't think our family understands.

Claire, I'm not sure that diet affects whether you get sugar in your urine as it's more a sign of GD, and people who eat extremely healthily can get it as it's more hormone related. However if you do get GD then your diet does have an affect.

Mrshappy, my belly button gets very sore when I've never had any piercings so perhaps the scar tissue is just more affected by the stretching.

Birdie, my NCT class said once your term you can do all the things you were meant to avoid earlier in case they started labour. This included using the tens machine, nipple stimulation, aromatherapy, reflexology, etc, as well as being relaxed as you're less likely to begin labour when stressed. I like the thought of aromatherapy/reflexology and I bet they're relaxing. :)

Becs and Eiteews I hope you property moves go well.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
  • Huge congrats 9ja4life! :j glad everything turned out ok, sounds a bit scary at points.

Birdie - you poor thing, can't believe hubby was wrestling you! I'd have given him a good wrestling kick where it hurts :rotfl: DTD worked for me last time - DD2 came at 38 wks! This time DH is banned from coming near cos I need to wait 2 wks and 2 days till my elective section and I don't fancy any dramatics in between

Hooray for all the countdowns to mat leave and house moves :D

Becsxxx - Fab bargains from your pal. It's so expensive otherwise. I'm hoping to sell my stuff when I'm done but SIL is hinting she might be TTC soon. I wouldn't mind just giving it to her but I can't be bothered keeping stuff for ages just in case she decides to go ahead.

SmlSave - lol at eating pineapples and orgasms together :rotfl:

Sjlou - hope your headache is just dehydration or something simple. :)

AFM - had an eventful Saturday night. After my ankles had suddenly swelled up the other day, my face went a bit puffy and I felt really nauseous. Called for advice and was told to come into the hospital. I got monitored and everything was ok but was there for hours. Meanwhile DD2 was downstairs seeing the out of hours doc and turns out she has tonsillitis poor wee thing :( I don't think I can even remember what a Saturday night in a pub is like now, it's been so long....:p
