Con I am the same, I am not even enjoying my job at the moment but if I'm at home for more than a few days (like I was last week due to my hip) I get cabin fever!! Though I've just put that down to living at OHs parents at the moment - I hope once we move into our own place I'll be more happy being at home without feeling like I have to get up and go out every 5 minutes!!

I am loving the Olympics at the moment though :d

Just the same as me then lol was going almost insane from cabin fever, we live alone and normally I would probably be okay but had been ordered bed rest so couldn't get the housework done, walk the dog etc the things id usually do on a day off,
Plus we don't have a tv in the bedroom, although I could have lay on couch I've been running to loo a lot which is upstairs so just stayed in bed.

I've two weeks in work to go so hoping I see it out. I've missed loads and can't help feeling guilty but it's not exactly my fault how my body reacts.
I pray for easy birth as my pregnancy has been awful.

Had a few health problems before though so perhaps that's why, I hate even mentioning it to OH as I feel at times he doesn't really understand. The health problems I have aren't visible or majorly severe but they make the days a little harder than they should be. I have spondylitis and joint problems and info feel pain every day, different levels of it and I've learned to cope well without medicines but just cos I'm not walking funny or popping pills doesn't mean I'm not in pain :( some people don't see it they way though !

Sorry for the midnight rant... It just feels better at times getting it off my chest even if no one actually listens just writing how if eek at times can help :)

I think they might test for more than one thing as I'm sure they're also checking for infection. Twice they've sent mine off for further testing as their tests showed a possible infection but I had no symptoms and nothing was found. What was funny was right at the start I had symptoms of an infection and got antibiotics, but their dip test didn't show it. :rotfl: So I think symptoms are a more reliable indicator.

I've just googled and they test for ketones, sugar, protein and bacteria/blood cells (two indicators of infection).

Ah that's interesting to know. And good to know my high sugar diet hasn't been so high it's affected the test so hopefully it's not too bad!

Congratulations 9ja! Does sound rather scary!

I was up at 2 with a stomach upset - probably from the blimmin iron tablet, and then I got myself in a panic as id been up for prob 20/30 mins and couldn't feel the baby moving so went down stairs had a drink put the tv on and then finally felt her move.

Is it just me who panics about this a lot?

I find it worst at night everytime I wake up I can't go back to sleep until I've felt a few movements.
  • Congratulations on Ethan, 9ja!

Claire, don't worry I'm exactly the same! Refuse to go back to sleep until I've felt a good kick!

Con, hope you're feeling better x

MrsHappy, I have the same thing with my belly button! I took out my belly bar about 9/10 years ago but there's still a hole and in the past couple of months it's been quite red around it. It's not painful, seems like it's just been aggravated by the stretching. I'm just treating it like a mini stretch mark and rubbing my cream in. Hopefully go back to a normal colour after birth!!

Congratulations 9ja! :T Dramatic indeed, but glad he's here safe and sound! :)

No baby for me yet. Boo. Totally fed up already... God knows what I'll be like by the end of the week if he's still not here! :o I couldn't sleep past 5 again but made myself stay in bed until 6 because I know that OH will be getting himself all worked up every time I even move in bed from now on, assuming that THIS IS IT! :p

Claire, I get those worries all the time! But then he starts to move too much and I get frustrated because it's keeping me awake! Poor little fella can't win! ;)

Rant away Con! It is difficult for people to see that you're in pain sometimes and so often all things pregnancy are dismissed as 'You're not ILL, you're JUST pregnant' but it's a bloody struggle for some people! I'm sure OH gets fed up of me moaning and groaning because of the pain I get, and he's always telling people what a good pregnancy I've had and I'm thinking 'Eh? What planet are you on?!'. Sadly there's just no way of making others understand what you're going through. :o

Last night I was lying on the floor (trying and failing to get comfy!) and OH started messing about putting me into various leg locks (wrestling moves!) and I was begging him to stop because my left leg has been really bad recently and feels like it's going to fall off if I twist it a certain way and he just carried on because he thought I was playing! I was almost in tears before he stopped and realised that I was in actual pain! :o

Any bright ideas to get baby on the way? Tried spicy food, walking as much as I can bear, bouncing on my gym ball, even got OH to BD for the first time in weeks after stopping because he found it 'too weird'! :p

  • Congratulations 9ja! Definitely dramatic but I hope you're both now doing well.

I'm struggling to get the motivation together to get ready for work :-( I really enjoy my job but knowing that I'm winding down now for leave is driving me crazy - trying to make sure everything gets done and procedures are written down and in place and trying to train the girl covering some of my tasks when she's only going to be doing it 2 days a week and another job 3 days a week and there's still chance the boss will get a temp in....*breathe* just three weeks to go now after this one.

In many ways I am looking forward to it but in others I'm not. Yesterday I hade no motivation to do anything all day and only started some sewing etc I needed to do at 6pm only to discover it needed much more work than the guy its for had told me! Grr, at least its now 1/3rd complete and I have prepped most of the rest.

I'm quite liking the idea of my cooking getting connected on Thursday then spending my days waiting for baby's arrival but baking/cooking and busying myself. I might even actually manage to catch up with one of my friends who lives locally, circumstances always seem to conspire against us when we organise anything!

  • Morning - congratulations 9ja! I love the name Ethan - its what my x2 DDs would have been!

I was up a ridiculous 6 times to go to the loo last night - its just not getting any better for me. ... I really don't remember this from previous pregnancies. Im not sleeping well anyway and am finding it v frustrating.

Anyway - off for a midwife apt this morning, so can have a lazy journey into work afterwards, no rushing :)

    Morning all :)

Regarding belly button piercings - my old scar was a bit sore when it started to stretch but is now just shiny and red so it may go away!

I'm just about to leave for the start of my last full week in the office, I finish next Monday. It does feel weird to be finishing at 'only' 33 weeks but I'm another with a particularly stressful job which is hard to wind down plus it gives me more time to prepare for the move.

It looks like we've finally got a moving date for our new place - early March after not knowing where we'd be... I've had to pick before or after baby. I assume it's easier to move before they're born even if I can't do very much!

Hope everyone has a lovely day :)
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.
