Eek Bambisbelle, I don't want leaky boobs! I feel lucky to not have any stretch marks yet, although considering I'm prone to them I'm not hopeful that it will last long.
Same here.
From what Ive read and heard from friends though, it seems to be a common occurrence to have none and then suddenly wake up around 8/9 months with a road map on your stomach! My friend only got them when she went overdue!Bambisbelle wrote: »Ha ha I don't know why I'm excited about leaky boobs, I'm not planning on breastfeeding at all, mainly because my diet has been poor since I was a child and the MW and doctors agreed that I would have to make such a major change in eating habits that it would cause more problems than necessary. I think I'm more excited at the fact even with my poor diet I'm still producing the right stuff.
Ahh the stretch marks (literally have just done a review on dooyoo about one of the creams) I had none for up until 26/27weeks and then I had 4 tiny ones and then suddenly I had 400 strectch marks. I'm pretty sure they're hereditary (think I read it somewhere) so no amount of cream is going to completely stop them. Fingers crossed you're one of the lucky ones that doesn't get them.
Insomnia sucks!! Really wish I could sleep I'm exhausted and she's not even here yet!
B xx
I agree I'm sure they are genetic and creams dont do anything, you either get them or you dont. I mean lets face if it there was a miracle cream everyone would be using it, no one would have any marks and the person would be a billionaire.
As youre producing something do you think you could feed the colostrum even if you dont go on to breast feed properly?
I havent had any leaking yet.neneromanova wrote: »RE: snowsuits. Edward does hgave one, but barely uses it. Only for the school run when he's in his sling. I would wait until baby is born as you never know what the British weather will do.
Things have been not too great for Edward really. I wasn't too worried about him and thought he was fine, but the health visitor weighed him and he hasn't gained any weight at all and was still his birth weight at 6 weeks old. It was just a case of my milk being skimmed and not full fat so yes now on Aptamil formula and in the last 10 days, the little fatty has put on 600+g. It sucks not to breastfeed, but Edward is happy so that's the main thinghe's such a gorgeous little man though. Smiling and giggling already when he was 5 weeks. Poor little man though has had so many tests and so much blood taken to "rule everything out". Its so sad when you see the size needle they stick in the babies and you can't do anything to stop the pain.
I hope everyone's births go well. Happy new year everyone
From my friends experiences this seems to be really common with breast fed babies although Im not sure at what week they are supposed to be back at their birth rate. They seem to have got better help from nct or la leche league type meetings rather than their health visitors which is unfortunate when thats what youre presented with more easily. If youre still wanting to do it could you do a combination?
I can imagine that must be really distressing to see! My friends baby had a tongue tie, she said that was pretty awful to watch being snipped.0 -
Yes I'm sure stretch marks are hereditary too so I'm sure I'll suddenly sprout them everywhere. My mum and sister are covered in them and I have them all over from growing as a teenager (I had slashes accross my back from getting tall as well as my upper inner arms and thighs and my bottom). I'm just amazed that I've got to 31 weeks without any considering, but I am moisturising daily in hope.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

Happy New Year everyone! Took me a while to suss there was a new thread, thought it was strangely quiet!
Can't quite believe that 2014 is here, having a bit of a panic this morning about all the things I still need to do.
Have started the hospital bag, we're going to take the one tiny baby babygro we've been given and a selection of newborn. We're only about a 15 min walk from the hospital so if these are too small OH can pop home to get some others. If it's too small for them we'll be sending MIL to get something from one of the 24 supermarkets!
Re snowsuits, I think I've been bought one which we'll use in the pram but I've got a Morrck carseat blanket for the carseat, feels both much less hassle and safer to me.
The leaky boobs convo has made me smile reading throughI've had a couple of small incidents, finding the whole having boobs thing rather odd so when they started leaking It was very strange!
On a similar topic, when are you supposed to get nursing bras? I'm scared if getting them too early incase I grow but at the same time it'd be nice to get some in the sale.0 -
Right then keeping spirits high must remember only 90% of babies are born on their due date and 90% come before 41 weeks, hence why the French give a extra week compared to us Brits.
Awww shame I'd love baby to arrive on time as I'm due on fathers day, would be fab!
re stretchmark talk... I already have them due to rapid weight gain (then loss!) a few years back, so they're bound to get worse. In fact, the other day I noticed my belly button looked a bit wide and lo and behold 6 little stretchmarks were around it... got 24ish more weeks to gain lots more too argh!

Happy new year! 35 weeks today, scary but exciting.
I weighed myself today and I have put on 2 stone! I am really shocked at that, I didn't expect it to be that much especially as I kept losing weight at the beginning. I have stretch marks from growing as a teenager so expected to be covered but so far I have 1 tiny mark. My mum has tons but my sister didn't get any until she was overdue.
My boobs seem to have missed the memo that I am pregnant, they are still the same size, shape etc and no leaking at all. I was looking forward to getting bigger boobs too
Also... only 12.5 hours left at work! I can't wait0 -
jenni_fer - I've gone from just being big enough to fill an A cup, to being about a DD/E before milk! It's very, very strange having boobs that you can't get a hand round!!! I bought some bras when I was a C cup hoping that I won't shrink too much when they decrease. But I also bought a m0thercare nursing bra that's too small in an 8/10 as it's not wired, and I have 2 D cup bras (I only like one of them). I tried not to go bananas and only bought when I felt I was getting too squished. I know you're not meant to, but I've found the most comfortable thing to do is go bra-less for most of the day
Getting BH today ever since I sat up in bed, assuming that's because baby was putting pressure in the right place when I sat up. Spending as much time on my birthing ball as possible although I forget to bounce (still think it's to keep you busy than to actually bring on labour).Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

I hope you don't take this the wrong way but, I am glad someone has mentioned having stretch marks (although I know it's not nice for you!). I'm 26 + 1 and over the last few days 3 have arrived on my bellyThey are pretty horrible and I was really annoyed as I had been moisurising near enough everyday. So been looking at Bio Oil to try and help reduce them.
OH was not helpful though, explaining to me it's okay as they were there before anyway  Cheers Hun
Hope you don't get too many more but just think of the lovely baby you will have at the end of it, or at least that's what I've been telling myself!x

Thanks Kerri, sounds like we started off in the same place, you've convinced me I probably will get even bigger so I think I'll wait for a bit.
Hope the BH turn into the real thing for you soon!0 -
I'm simular size to you Kerri from the sounds of it so if mine got like that it would be hard to get my head round!
My friend wasn't that much bigger than me, and she said nothing much happened until right before the birth and then when the milk came in and she was a bit 'omg what are these things on my chest!' She got more stretch marks on her boobs than tummy! So she had to buy new stuff then I don't think she got any or many bras before.
Kynthia I got those as a teenager too, round the top of my hips, my bum and inner thighs.
Sometimes I find the whole thing strange because surely our bodies know we are going to grow so why isn't our skin designed to go with it!0 -
I have stretch marks from having DS they appeared from about 30 weeks. I am not big enough to have made them stretch yet but I am sure I will stretch them more. I think no matter how much cream or bio oil you rub in - some of us have stretchy skin and others of us are less stretchy lol.
I have just submitted one of two 5,000 word essays and I am so nervous about getting my first grade. I need to get on with the next module as soon as it appears as my due date is a week before submissions in the summer semister. Better get reading!
Kerri_dfw - I do hope your BH turn into solid contractions - your a boldy now!3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:
