Con that pram is lovely! Looks like a traditional one without being ridiculously big lol

BigZ to be fair I've just remembered that she was the same when I had my gallbladder out, she came every afternoon after working since six, two buses to my old house and two buses back. I'm sure if I said anything she wouldn't come but she's a fusspot and I don't mind time with her really, not now she's done the tidy that was bothering me lol just have to get her a key so she can slip in instead of knocking and waking me up from a nap lol

I'll definitely want to see a picture of miniZ, can't tell you how pleased I am for you that you're so close to having your baby in your arms. I admire your patience, if someone said to me I could be induced early I don't think I'd have the strength to wait lol

Can I ask a stupid question- does anyone else think that their hair has stopped growing? I had it cut short in November and thought I'd get a trim before baby comes but it doesn't seem to have grown!

Thank you, I can't wait to get it now, they hold it for me until I need it.

My hair seems to be growing faster on my head but less on my body lol. So I'm needing my highlights more often but not having to shave as much:rotfl:

In regards to holidays/mat leave ( sorry I really should learn to multi quote) I finish up 4 weeks before due date. Taking AL though, my mat leave doesn't start til the Monday of the week I am due.

Badly Our local hospital does that with the red wrist band too - I know from Mil being in, but I'm not going to that one and unsure about whether my chosen hospital does the same thing. In any case, I'm not concerned as I have a higher than normal tolerance for pain meds (when not pregnant I have opiates on repeat prescription ;)) :p I'm actually more concerned about needing more than I'd like (apparently common with my conditions), rather than avoiding them for side effects...

It's nice that she's helpful. My folks wouldn't be :p they're more the hang around under your feet waiting to be served cups of tea/coffee type :p:cool:

Thanks :A We're pretty excited when we allow ourselves to stop and think about it :D There's still definitely a part of me holding back though, not wanting to take anything for granted etc. :o

There have been moments I've seriously considered 'throwing in the towel' in favour of induction, but a big part of the point of being offered the early induction was to give me a better chance of getting through the labour myself, rather than needing an assisted delivery... If my body isn't ready enough then induction is more likely to fail (and I read that c sections are something like 50% more likely in inductions) and I'd end up with the very problem we were trying to avoid :o I got everything ready early though, in case and so I could relax and conserve energy in the last few weeks, so I'm just hoping resting enough (even if there's not as much sleep as I'd like!:p) will get me through... Plus I kind of want MiniZee to have a birthday as far away from Christmas as possible! :rotfl: and now DH has a cold, I'm not too concerned about waiting another few days for that to clear up either ;)

Re the hair, mine hasn't stopped growing but hasn't fallen out as much as usual either. I've read it's very normal though - another hormone side effect ;) I had my hair done on the 30th and just hoping it 'lasts' long enough to not need doing again while MiniZee is quite so me-dependant :o I'm hoping I'll be able to express to go to the hairdressers (and dentists . I need a cap on my front tooth replacing before April when my dentist goes private (awkward sod ) and it's still free), cos it takes nearly 3 hours to get it done... Best laid plans and all that... ;)

    40+0!

I don't know if my hospital does the red wristband thing. I'm not allergic to anything (as far as I know!) so doesn't really affect me anyway. :)

I can't wait to see pics of Mini Z either! So excited for you BZ! :)

My hair growth seems to have slowed down over the last couple of months but the first trimester greasiness seems to be back. :( Feel so sexy right now! ;)

ETA: I decided I'm going to skip the class tonight too. :o It's a signs of labour one and TBH, just from chatting to everyone on here I think I know all I want to know! :)

Hair on my head growing at average rate I think (always slows down as it gets longer anyway)
I'm another who is finding I hardly have to shave my legs etc though! Very strange, for a while I was running a razor over them out of habit but it was drying my skin out and I have very poor skin on my legs anyway.

Hair on my head has gone crazy dry though :'( the mil got me some of the cussons mum-to-be toiletries for Christmas and that shampoo is lovly and slowly fixing it I think (alternating with herbal essences though cost I like the smell :P)

Claire it does just sound like back covering, maybe if DH can't get time off it'd be nice to take a grandparent? When I had my second anomaly scan my DH couldn't come so I took my sister and she was delighted to get to see baby

I've been told by several different people that gallstone pain is worse than childbirth and I dealt with that with nothing but otc cocodamol so I'm quietly confident. In a way I think it'll be an 'easier' pain to deal with as what makes pain worse for me is not knowing why it's there or how long you'll have it for, which makes you panic. Hopefully I'll be able to stay fairly calm as I'll know the cause of the pain and that it'll go away once baby's born :)

Thanks yes DH suggested I ask my Mum, but hes now switched 2 clients around and they are both people we are friends with so won't be annoyed or anything that their PT sessions are being moved as he can tell them why.

Infact when we were at the hospital for the 12 week scan half of his client base was waiting for texts from us for the 'ok' as they all knew about the miscarriage before!

Ive heard the gall stone thing too! Not that ive ever had them but a good sign for you.

I totally agree about the 'why' and making you panic. That is exactly how I feel with pregnancy or non pregnancy related pain. If I dont know what something is it really throws me.

Yeah Im sure it is a bit of back covering too. And Birdie thats how Im trying to look at it too. BZ yeah to be honest I was expecting to be told I had a small bump from day 1, so I was actually pretty shocked when I went at 24 weeks and measured that.

Im trying to be positive about it as Im thinking:

    1. The measurement was actually ok I think shes more concerned about consistency over the next 5 weeks - and 5 weeks is a long time til I see her next
    2. When I had the bleeding I was thinking about if I got this far I would ask for another scan just for reassurance really and to check everything was still ok and if they wouldn't give me one, perhaps paying for one which at my local place costs £150 or something, so Im getting one for free now.
    3. I only just the other day signed a petition on facebook that a lady who lost her baby had set up, to say that women should all get a growth scan at around 30 weeks or so because using a tape measure has in some cases given false reassurance, and a scan could have helped her.

And lets face it it all comes down to cost and going from 20 weeks to 40 is a long time with no scan when there are machines in the hospitals!

    4. I get to see the baby again
    5. I can ask them to check if its a girl! :)

At least then we'll have 10 weeks to try to sell a ton of pink stuff and swap the pink car seat :rotfl:

(Just didnt help when a lady today found out I was pregnant and said oh wow thats great, are you 3 or 4 months or? I said er no 6!! To be fair I had my winter coat on which really does hide my bump but grr! And quite honestly if I was measuring 26cm at 12 weeks when the baby is about 5cm long I think there would be a growth problem in the opposite way!)

I had mine on 23rd December. Wasn't pleasant having to go without breakfast but it went quicker than I thought. Luckily nothing came of it and I well made up for it over the next few days!
