Thank you, I thought this would be the case but it was confusing me lots, my brain has been so muddled today... just ordered a takeaway and ordered myself the wrong thing... sat in floods of tears when I realised
OH gave me some of his and saved the day a bit.
Will check kiddicare for colour packs, I think I will get the light green one but would also like some other colours, that's one of the reasons i'm liking the oyster as you can change
Yes TL is right you just start with the carry cot.
I can't decide what colour to get yet so I can make my mind up whilst I'm waiting for it to come back into stock at mothercare!
Kynthia that is really early normally invites would be like 6-8 weeks before not 9 months?! Fair enough to do save the dates but an actual RSVP seems a bit unecessary,
Back to work today, 6 weeks to go!0 -
Silly question.....has anyone had swollen knees?
Woke up this morning to them hurting like my ankles do when they swell. Not caused too much of a problem today just wondering if anyone else has suffered?
I have a problem with one of my knees. I've always had triune with it being overweight, but last year I lost 2 stone and the problem completely went away and it was bliss. Now I'm carrying weight again I've noticed that the same knee is a little swollensome days it's fine and others it's agony walking up and down the stairs.
As much as I'm enjoying being pregnant I can't wait to shift this weight again!0 -
I feel like the only person whose boobs haven't changed!!! Apart from the weird frozen nipple thing I've been getting my boobs haven't altered in size. I was a 34h before getting pg and still am now. In the first trimester I had to wear a softer bra as they were painful but since then I'm back in my old bras. Don't get me wrong. I do not want them to get bigger!!!! But I feel like I should be wanting to wear different bras at this stage. Not getting any leakage though so perhaps they're not ready yet...0

My boobs havent really changed v much either Squirrel. DH reckons they look bigger, but dont really feel it ! I've gone up froma 34 to a 36 but do still have some 34s that fit comfortably.
Getting fed up of this sick malachy. 38 weeks on thursday and still sick EVERY DAY. I'm also getting fed up of people telling me it's meant to stop after 3 months. Erm, I passed that mark a while ago sunshine!Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140 -
Squirrel - My boobs haven't changed or leaked at all and I am 37 weeks tomorrow. I have been worrying that I won't be able to breast feed.
Jemb - Still sick everyday, thats horrible. Is there nothing the docs can give you?
Lola - :jCongratulations:j. What an entry into the world for your LO.
Jox & Rummer - Thinking of you both -x-
afm. Another appointment at the diabetic clinic today, ho hum. Another 45 minute trek to the hospital for a 5 minute appointment. Don't know why they don't just let me keep going until something changes.
Next week I am back at antenatal for growth scan, consultant and poss. sweep!. Its too early, I'm not ready, I'm only number 5 on the list.0 -
I think I'm used to it now Firefly. I'll be mid convo with hubby, say "hang on" rush to en suite, puke come back and resume convo! I've told midwife and she's a bit impartial really and said, oh well not long to go! Only issue I have is SPD means I cant do the usual drop to the knees and sink head into loo basin. So it's the hand basin with lots of bleach and the plug removed for me! Classy!
I've not leaked either, I'm having the same worries also, but cross that bridge when she gets here.
Hope all goes well for you next week xMarried the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140 -
Yep I'm still waiting for leaky boobs too, I've been told the hospital will provide me with a pump so I can give the baby milk while he's in neonatal but I'll just have to leave it to the midwives to sort out his feed for the first couple of days, I still can barely think beyond the c section to what will happen next anyway. My boobs didnt change much either, from 34b to 36c.
My cousin is pg and has carpal tunnel, I read vitamin b6 can help but not immediately, that must be painful / uncomfortable..0 -
Mammoth catch-up post!
Emz, that cot skirt is ingenious! Might have to make one myself! Or, more likely... ask Mum to make it for me!
I think I've totally missed the boat for ante natal classes. My MW just never mentioned them at all (and my baby brain means I forget everything I want to say the minute I step into the office!) and considering you're supposed to book through the MW I'd have thought she'd have mentioned it at one of the appointments rather than just rushing me out each time! Shouldn't be surprised, she never even mentioned the MatB1 form either, which she bloody provides and signs off.Seeing her tomorrow so will ask but fully expect to be told I've left it too late now. They all seem to be on a week night around here when OH is working and I don't want to go without him since TBH, I'd mostly be doing it for him so he has a clue what to do when I'm in labour!
Thinking of you, Jox.
Sending you big hugs BZ. You deserve a happy ending and I'm sure everything will be just fine.
Faerie, I get the 'Oooh you're tiny' and 'Oooh you're massive' comments all the time too! I think it depends on how long ago they had babies themselves (if they are parents) or how familiar they are with pregnancy as to whether or not they have a firm grasp on what looks 'right' or not!I just smile and nod, whatever people say! I also had a colleague say the other week 'Not due until February?! God, you're been pregnant forever!' Ooooh, sorry for that! Didn't realise that my pregnancy was lasting so much longer than every other woman's!
The 'get loads of sleep' suggestions bug me too, I'm not sleeping well and it's annoying me that I'm 'supposed' to be getting about 14 hours a day by the sounds of some people's advice!
MrsBunny, I've been snoring too! I don't believe it!OH said that he was awake every hour on Saturday night because I was so loud! He knows it's the baby's fault though so isn't being mean about it... I just hope it stops once he's here!
Congratulations Lola! What a story, yet another dramatic entry into the world!
We use Fairy Non-Bio and a fabric conditioner with a baby on the front (can't remember what the brand is! Either Comfort or Pure, we tend to rotate) anyway as OH has sensitive skin so used it on baby's clothes too. Got all the early months clothes washed last week, it was the cutest chore ever!Packed his tiny things into a hospital bag too.
Alipops, I'd be avoiding the wedding but letting OH go... but maybe ask him not to drink and have a back-up best man available just in case?!
Yay, more Oyster buddies! Can't wait to use mine! :j Con, the buggy bit is for 6 months onwards (although there's a little insert so I'm sure a younger baby could go in there...) but the carrycot is for use from day 1. I keep forgetting the knack to fold the frame down (it's really simple, but I just keep forgetting it!) and ended up in tears a few weeks ago because what kind of mother can't even fold up her own baby's pram?!I had to bite my tongue a few weeks ago as I saw that my friend had her 8 day old in a pushchair (pic on FB), not even lying down! Poor little thing looked so squished and uncomfortable and the straps were huge on him, even OH, who is pretty clueless, said 'Ooooh that doesn't look right! His poor neck is going to be screwed!' but we didn't dare say anything for fear of looking meddling or judgemental!
Feel like I'm on proper countdown until ML now, only 9 days of work to go! My manager is off until Thursday and I really hope she organises my collection then as my friend said that she hasn't heard anything about it yet... not being greedy or anything but the amount I've paid into wedding/big birthday/baby collections over the years... it's about time I got one for me!
Mrs TM, if you're struggling to get comfort bras that fit, how about vests with 'hidden support' that you can pop breast pads in? Or, since you're only worrying about leakage at home, just pop some toilet paper/kitchen roll down your top?! Better than nothing!
Firefly/Jemb, I read something about leaky boobs during pregnancy and basically it said that if you don't leak it doesn't mean you won't be able to breastfeed, just that you're lucky not to have been leaking prior to actually having any use for the colostrum! I'm sure you'll be fine.
Kynthia, that does seem like a lot of notice for an August wedding! Maybe drop them a line saying 'Maybe' and explain why?!
We bought a tiny suit for Baby's first wedding in June yesterday. It's the cutest thing ever! OH kept looking at it and saying 'It even has a tiny tie! A TINY TIE!' bless him! Sent a photo of it to the bride and she got super excited about it as our little man is going to be an unoffical usher with his Daddy!
Sunshine, sounds like you've got loads on! I always admire people who have the energy to study as well as work FT... especially whilst pregnant! Just try not to burn yourself out.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
jemb - I'm a throw up in the sink kind of girl, I hate being ill in the toilet so always run the taps and use the sink.
I'm chilling out today with essential oils and feeling really blissed. It's the only way I can stop myself going stir crazy at the thought of OH being back in work today with a potential 1hr - 1.5hr commute to get back....I could end up driving myself to the hospital up the road!!! Very grateful she's let him have a nice relaxing time off, but sods law means she'll come today and I won't be able to get hold of him as his signal is rubbish at his work eep!
lola - what an amazing birth story, congratulations
birdie - if you're anything like me you'll start to find loads of random things about the house that need to be sorted whilst on maternity leave, your house will never be so tidy!Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:
