• Just popping back as a lot of people are looking at an Oyster, I've got one and I love it! The frame folds very small, I've only used it with a carrycot so far - that can be a challenge to get into the boot but as you remove it from the frame it's easy enough to put in the front footwell or on the back seat. I can fit it in my boot but I've got a Megane which is massive.
The colour sets are easy to change and it's a comfy pram to push, and very light for getting on/off public transport as well.
We will probably move to the pushchair bit soon as LO is getting too big for the carrycot, but it's had good use out of it and you can get replacement mattresses and use it for daytime sleeping to save lugging a moses basket up and downstairs.

I pushed the Oyster round the shop I went in looking at prams and it was lovely and light. The way it folded impressed me too. We are going to go back in a few weeks to look at one as OH wasn't with me. DS said I should buy one because the handle goes up and down low enough for him and high enough for OH, love the colour packs too!

We've got the oyster, only pushed is round the kitchen so far though!! We got the carrycot part off ebay for £30, and a colour pack off there too, that way if it doesn't get used a lot its not too expensive.
It does fold down pretty easily and small too.

I really need to get new bras too. Must go get measured...

Silly question.....has anyone had swollen knees?

Woke up this morning to them hurting like my ankles do when they swell. Not caused too much of a problem today just wondering if anyone else has suffered?

Just caught up on 6 pages... I'm sure there was lots I wanted to respond to but now have no idea what they were.

I'm another one with 6 weeks work to go... Well 6 weeks and a day due to weird holiday allowance. I'm thinking of it as office days - 31 days sounds much nicer! Still thankful I get to finish so early - mat leave starts on due date :)
Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.

Ali - It will still be quite a while before the wedding when you tell your friends about the pregnancy. There's a good bet the stag do will then be brought forward. I'd be happy to let my OH go for the whole day but I'm not sure he'd want to be away overnight if I was due. Yes he'd have to not drink and I'd need back up phone number for the venue or other people there incase I couldn't get through to his mobile. However him being an hour away wouldn't bother me as my hubbie works over 1.5 hours away every day if there's no delays and it's not like he can stay home incase I go into labour. You'll know more nearer the time and be more certain how you feel, but life doesn't stop it just needs more planning. :)

Jox - I hope you are well and sleeping okay.

Kerri - the nursery looks lovely. I'm jealous and can't wait to get our house in order to create a nursery. We covered natural methods of inducing labour in our NCT class today. As well as pineapple, papaya, kiwi and mango , there was reflexology, massage and aromatherapy (all by professionals only); sex, orgasms and nipple stimulation. :D Being relaxed was also said to be important so hypnotherapy and meditation were also included.

Lola - wow what a birth story. I'm glad everything went so well that you went back into your home after.

AFM - We had our 2nd full day of NCT training and it was really good. Hubbie enjoyed it too but he's more shy than I am so didn't chat to as many people. I'm hoping if we organise more meet ups he'll do better at one-on-one socialising and conversation. I've volunteered to create a private Facebook group even though I don't know how yet. I thought I might ask the ladies who set up the one for us here for advice. :)

I have a new symptom, pregnancy related carpal tunnel syndrome....what joy! I think it's only occasional (well I hope it is) but it's a horrid ache down the inside of my arm/s into my hand. Apparently it's due to the extra fluid putting pressure on the nerve in our wrists. Something to talk to the midwife about tomorrow but I don't think there's much the can do. Anyone else notice they have this or been wondering if they slept funny on their arm or hand?

I've been invited to a wedding next August and they want the RSVP in the next few weeks!!!! I thought you'd get a save the date card this early and then invites 2-4 months before as surely things will crop up and change for people meaning that they'll have to change their minds about attending nearer the time. Considering the distance, many will need to book the day before off work for travelling and not everyone can book that far ahead. Am I the only one that thinks it's too early to know if you can go?

Ok, the leaky boob thing is beginning to get to me now. Just leaked on a fresh shirt! Is there any way of blocking/stopping the drippies without wearing a bra? None of my bras are comfortable enough to wear all of the time, and DH just shelled out £25 for two that are big enough/nice enough for me to wear when leaving the house. Before anyone says it, it's too flipping cold to go without a shirt! ;)

Have you looked at lilypadz? They're not suitable for wearing 24/7 but essentially stick to your boob and apply pressure to stop leaking so you don't need a bra or pad... I can't say how good they are as I've not tried them, but I've been sorely tempted for similar reasons!

Mrs_TM do let me know if you find any bras, I'm a 36HH and struggling! Tried on H cup maternity bras in M@rks n Sp@rks but they just squashed my boobs in like a kids crop top (though felt quite comfy, might have been better than the horrible pain I get atm!)

Lola... wow.. what a birth story! If we have a girl we might be copying your middle name, it's after my grandma :-)

Been reading all your pram chat, the oyster really appeals to me too! Might take your advice and watch a few carrycots on ebay :-) waiting til the end of the month to get one though, when we know if we are team blue or team pink!

AFM, was in essay writing hell yesterday and now I'm at work, feeling guilty because the essay needs about another 5 hours of work on it and I'll only have about 2 hours to complete it later. I feel mentally and physically exhausted, and heartburn is doing my head in! Just need time out. Thought really hard about calling in sick this morning, but our ward manager is doing February's shifts this week and I keep thinking if I call in sick he'll give me rubbish shifts, which I can't cope with (or physically do with out of work commitments). Being pregnant, working full time and studying part time at uni (which also includes a full days teaching placement) is exhausting, and I'll be glad when it's all done in early May.

Still, 19 weeks til annual and maternity leave haha!

17+1 xx
