Bz that's horrible that poor lady.
I have similar fears. I'm quite anxious at the moment since the tape measure thing especially.
I don't really know how to help but I know how it feels!I'm sure you can imagine all my fears! Fearing for baby and myself, god help us! Will probably pay the prayer room a few visits between now and Tuesday night.
Deciding factor on eviction is that baby isn't growing much and may be better off in neonatal unit, plus amniotic fluid is decreasing. I feel fine in myself but midwives and doctors seem to be treating me like bone china. Can't fault the care so far.
Let's hope for happy endings (and beginnings) for all of us xx
You'll be in my thoughts jox. I'm sure you're incredibly daunted, I would be terrified, but there's definitely something to be said for having him/her on the outside where you (and others) can see and monitor him/her much easier. And at practically 35 weeks your baby has fantastic odds of being perfectly fine.a friend of ours gave birth spontaneously at 36 weeks and the baby was absolutely fine and needed no assistance whatsoever

I'm loving the cotbed skirt, such a good idea
although we don't have a cot but I do need to make some curtains.
BZ - sorry to hear about your friend, but try not to get yourself too worked up. You need to use this time to relax, that's the only way the baby is coming I'm sure that's why mine is still hanging in there...my sheer lack of ability to relaxI've spent an hour this morning meditating and using affirmations of "my body knows what it is doing", "my body knows how to birth my baby", and visualising the muscles working in harmony. Whether it works or not I have no idea but I'm hopeful.
Jox - I have everything crossed for you that your baby arrives safely on Wednesday and that all goes ok. It must be such a worrying time for you, but try to rest as much as possible I've been told it's the thing you miss the most from the new mums in our NCT group.
Re: NHS classes - we didn't do any, we did do hypnobirthing and NCT though but I think the NHS ones were inconvenient times so we didn't bother.
Does anyone know whether sweeps cause night sweats? The past two nights I've woken up dripping in sweat. Last night I got up and went to sleep in the other room. I can't control my temperature very well as I have no thyroid and am normally a low 36 degrees on the thermometer, I don't have one here to check my temp at the moment though. Wondering if OH is making me too hot or whether it's coincidence it only started after the S&S.
Oh and BZ I've been irritable on and off for the past week, I think it's a change in hormones as your body gears up for your baby being bornso I wouldn't worry. I punched the punch-man that OH uses the other day and it seemed to help a little.

Morning ladies! I finished work yesterday, wahoo!
I am def ready for a few weeks off to relax before the baby comes. We signed for our first house this week so have a provisional moving date for 2 weeks time, eek! We were hoping to be moved in before Christmas so it's getting a bit stressful hoping we have enough time to move in before little man makes his appearance. I must be one of the only women that hopes their baby is late! Our nursery furniture is in storage at my mum's, I can't wait to put it up and start getting things ready properly in our own house.
I don't have my antenatal classes until 20th and 27th Jan but am due on 5th Feb, another reason why he shouldn't come early.
Why do people want to give their opinion on everything when you are pregnant? Even people who have never had children? I had lots of people tell me that I had a small bump yesterday so my baby will be tiny. Then later, 2 people told me I was massive and must be expecting a whopper! I have measured spot on throughout thank you. Also, telling me to relax and get some sleep whilst I can... I can't sleep at the moment, I get a few hours and then I am wide awake. Grr!
I hope everyone else is ok and all babies are behaving.0 -
Hi all, I'm just after a bit of advice. I'm 19+3 with second baby. I'm posting here because there seems to be more activity here at the moment.
I have been feeling regular movements for about 2 weeks, before that was just flutters. Anyway I've not felt anything at all since yesterday morning, not even last night and baby is usually most active in the early evening. I'm planning to have a cold fizzy drink and lie on my let side for a bit and I'm wondering if I don't feel anything after that I if I should phone someone. I'm worried they are just going to tell me it's too early to be worried about reduced movements.
What do you lovely ladies think?0 -
cllola, I wouldn't worry, your baby has lots of room in there at the moment so could just be lying in a different position. I didn't feel anything until 24 weeks and could only feel him when I laid flat on my back. Do you have a doppler? I've got one and found it reassuring to hear his heartbeat and listen to him moving around. For some people it just heightens their anxiety though when they can't find the baby...0

I'd say it could be too early as I didnt feel definite movement til 22 weeks but there's no harm calling midwife / maternity triage if youre worried. Probably sitting quietly once you've had a cold drink / something sugary will help you to feel the subtle movements.0

cllola - I'd also say it was too early, but if you are ever concerned then call the MW for advice, it's what they are there for and they are only too glad to be of assistance
don't be afraid to call them x

Thanks ladies, I'm going to have a lie down and try to relax a bit!
Hope you're all well :-)0 -
Good luck Jox, I hope it goes ok. Glad they are all taking super good care of you.
Kerri - hope its not much longer that you have to wait. Going overdue totally sucks, but I've almost forgotten all about it now
BZ - I think its completely and utterly natural to be anxious and agitated in the last few days. You are at your most uncomfortable, unable to move or sleep properly, and the unknown of labour is just around the corner. Added to that all the [STRIKE]concerned and caring[/STRIKE] annoying friends and family who just 'check in on you' it just adds to the stress levels. Plus all your hormones are altering round in preparation for labour which sent me a bit loopy, well combined with the cooped in feelings as I didn't like to be too far from home so I couldn't even blow away the cobwebs and distract myself in the last couple of weeks like I normally would if I was in a bit of a mood.
The last 2 weeks (where I was overdue) were by far and away the worst times. I was snappy with people, and then very very tearful at times. I haven't quite made up with my mum properly yet as she kept pushing all my buttons whilst overdue until I really snapped at her and now she thinks I am 'a bully'.
I too had fears for my health (bigger the baby the more likelihood of 3rd degree tear again - which I did get, but not as severe as last time where they considered a colostomy bag) and fears for my baby's health (made worse by it being so close to my angels due date).
Everything you are feeling is completely normal and as soon as mini zee is here, everything will be well again. I know that seems forever away, and is not much comfort whilst you are going through it all. And I won't patronise you with 'not long left, or won't be long now'. Just wanted to say that I hope it all goes ok. :A

I am 21 weeks and only in the last week or so do I feel movement every day. She likes early mornings and after dinner. My placenta is on the front wall so when she moves I imagine she kicks that sometimes.
Hopefully baby will kick you soon in the nicest possible way! Xx3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:
