Sorry I've been lax in posting the past week or so, but I've been struggling with the hyperemesis again. Saw the GP this morning and he was amazingly sympathetic, I could have cried with relief not just to get fobbed off again with continuing on the cyclizine and being told it'll probably stop soon - so far, I've been told it usually stops at 12 weeks, 16 weeks and 22 weeks. Well, not here it doesn't!
GP has started me on metoclopramide, so fingers crossed that kicks in over the weekend. I'm still the same weight I was when I conceived, and with my high BP anyway I'm really nervous that little one isn't growing at the right pace. My fundal height is right for dates, but I think I'll be worrying until the growth scan on March 3rd. My best friend said that at least I can stop worrying once baby is here, but anyone else who's a second timer (or more!) will know how untrue that is - my baby girl is 5 now and I still check she's breathing every night when I go to bed! .
You poor woman! I was on the cyclizine til around 16 weeks I think (although from about week 13 I was only taking it every so often as it would knock me out for 2/3 hours sleeping, so I couldnt drive either and I was back at work around then so mainly took it just before I went to bed to help me sleep as Id sometimes feel the worst in the evening.)
I felt like death on some days I dont know how youve coped with it for this long.0 -
stsarina - I'm sorry you're feeling bad again. I had metoclopramide and it was pretty good. I still carry a packet in my bag just in case, but luckily I haven't been sick for over a month. Don't worry too much about the baby growing - I lost weight through sickness and my baby is fine. Basically they're parasites and will take all they need from your reserves...Hope you're looking after yourself0

Glad you enjoyed it becs. We finished ours this week & we've now got a Facebook group & arranging to meet up with the girls already in a week or so, I really enjoyed the course, I learnt lots but DH learnt tons!
Exactly this!!! I was nodding along at most things they said, but DH was literally shellshocked despite me talking at him for the last 5 months!!!! He had shall we say the "Hollywood" idea of labour (ie: waters break and you are rushed into hospital immediately), so the idea of possibly days of early labour was the biggest shock to him!.0 -
Kynthia - sorry the exchange didn't happen; moving is so stressful. We are viewing 5 hourses tomorrow!!! God knows when we will actually get moved, not sure I can bear thinking about it....
Thanks to everyone for the basket suggestions - need to get measured up ASAP I think.
stsarina - sounds awful, hope the new medication works for you..0 -

HI ladies hope you are all well. Can i have some quick advice?
The last couple of hours I've been getting period like aches at the bottom of my belly. Has anyone else had this? They aren't full blown period cramps, but it definitely feels 'period-like'.
I've not quite got to the point where I'm worried enough to phone midwife, and I have felt baby kicking today, but it's just on my mind a bit. I've got my midwife appointment on Monday so could wait until then, and it could just be another bladder infection I guess.
Sorry....i'm ranting. Just a little worried.Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T

msa - I had those types of pains recently, they were worrying at the time but they passed fairly quickly. Like you baby was moving so I was a bit reassured. If you're worried give your midwife a ring, they're great with things like that. The only reason I didn't call is that it only lasted around 15 mins or so.0

mysecretalias - I've had these relatively frequently throughout the pregnancy. I spoke to the MW about them at one of my regular appointments and she said cramps were completely normal - often women get them at the same time as they would have had their period normally which is really odd, but she also said that even from 12 weeks they could be Braxton Hicks! Hope that helps, but of course call your MW if you are still worried or if they are really hurting x.0
