Msa I've literally just has a few weird pains at the bottom of my bump, think I er just needed the loo though! But it does still feel a bit uncomfortable, and different to the normal stretchy pains I get.

Jen 1985 my bump measures on small side of normal too but the scan showed she was pretty much average size or slightly below. The drs keep measuring my bump bigger than the midwife does though so will be interesting to see what she measures it as on weds.

DH has made the cot & the pink rug that I only ordered yesterday arrived today plus some bedding bits from mothercare so it's starting to come together now!

I just now need to get the huge pile of clothes I have - both new & stuff given to us, washed & put away in the wardrobe!

Claire I think it's just more of those pregnancy niggles that we constantly get 'reassured' about from midwives etc. but when you actually have the pains and stuff it can just be a bit of a worry :( I do get similar pains when I need the loo which at the moment seems to be pretty much constantly :o but this morning was just slightly different. It doesn't help that I think I've already grown out of my maternity jeans so they squeeze my bump a bit :(

Ooh I haven't had my bump measured yet I wonder if I'll have it measured at my 25 week appointment on Monday?

Wow I'm impressed with your progress and also very jealous. When I saw our solicitor tonight she reckons she might be able to get us into our new home by mid march so as soon as we are in we can start ordering the nursery set etc, but until then we are just buying the little bits. So frustrating - I feel like I need to start nesting now!!!

I noticed from your signature that you'd spent a bit of cash on baby :D

  • Faith no I didn't call her in the end, as it started to feel a little better once I'd sat and drunk some water and took a moment to try and relax. I think it was a combination of usual stretching, my jeans being a little too tight, my chair at work being very uncomfy and just a little stressed in general today about getting stuff to solicitor etc.

I'm ok now, sat on the couch and OHs dad has made me a cup of tea whilst I wait for OH to get home from work :)

Yeah heartburn is killing me at the moment :( have you tried Tums? I got told if you're pregnant you're not supposed to have Rennies or Gaviscon so my OH brought me 'Tums' instead and they do actually help but you have to take two.

Mmmm I like Tums! Like sweeties! :)

Jasper is so cute! Glad you're getting on well even if you're sleep deprived! :) Got my (rented) TENS machine in my bag waiting to go! :)

Jen, I'm sure that baby will be fine but it's good that they'll be keeping an eye on everything. :)

Boo to having cankles Faithhope! :p I seem to have gotten away without getting them although my socks and shoes are feeling a little tighter now! :o

Glad you're feeling better now MSA. Pregnancy just seems to be a 9 month-long worry! :o

My bottle of Boots own brand gaviscon says on the side that it is suitable for the relief of pregnancy related heartburn. It must be safe otherwise they'd be on pretty dodgy ground with that claim. HTH.

  • it says on the rennies packet safe to take in pregnancy :)
  • That's good then - I was definitely told by my midwife that I should avoid them and to get tums instead. So I don't know when she made that up! Lol

Yeah it can be really worrying!

Yes I think 25 weeks is the first time for measuring.

I'm really wanting to get it all done now, nursery wise, so much stuff to put away!

Yeah good job the furniture was bought by my nan & parents are buying the travel system as the fund is almost gone! Nct did cost a fair chunk of it though plus stuff like a shelf, essential clothing, baby bath & maternity clothes, it's gone down fast!

Rennies and gaviscon are fine, think your midwife has gone loopy! Rennies are my saviour I get horrible acid reflux, sometimes I've actually been a bit sick in my mouth :(

Found a dream geni on a Facebook site for £5, can't wait to get it tomorrow what a bargain!

I've been getting bad acid reflux the last couple of weeks. Midwife said to use Gaviscon, and it's definitely been helping. It's strange because I didn't get this in my first pregnancy at all.

    I've been Money Tipped!
If I couldn't take gaviscon I'd be beside myself by now! I've had increasingly bad heartburn & now I must take it 4-5 times a day & regularly bring up acid in my mouth... Charming!

Hope everyone is ok, just ticking along here really. 37 weeks on Monday & pretty sure baby will be staying put for a good few weeks yet :) x

Badlywrittenpoem - I'm not sure but I think if self employed dads pay themselves a salary through PAYE and pay NI then they might be able to claim but I don't know how likely that is.
Yes, someone who is officially employed will likely be able to claim but I thought we were talking about people who were officially self-employed.
