Sorry I've been lax in posting the past week or so, but I've been struggling with the hyperemesis again. Saw the GP this morning and he was amazingly sympathetic, I could have cried with relief not just to get fobbed off again with continuing on the cyclizine and being told it'll probably stop soon - so far, I've been told it usually stops at 12 weeks, 16 weeks and 22 weeks. Well, not here it doesn't!
GP has started me on metoclopramide, so fingers crossed that kicks in over the weekend. I'm still the same weight I was when I conceived, and with my high BP anyway I'm really nervous that little one isn't growing at the right pace. My fundal height is right for dates, but I think I'll be worrying until the growth scan on March 3rd. My best friend said that at least I can stop worrying once baby is here, but anyone else who's a second timer (or more!) will know how untrue that is - my baby girl is 5 now and I still check she's breathing every night when I go to bed!0 -
Hi everyone, hope you are all well
Another acid reflux sufferer here Thank god for rennies which at least allow me to sleep on only 2-3 pillows. lol. Haven't tried Tums yet.
Jasper is beautiful Faerie
someone mentioned iron tablets to me too as I have been so tired lately. I need to make sure they aren't already in my pregnancy vitamins.
mysecretalias - have you tried Spatone? Its an iron supplement that doesn't have the side effects of iron tablets and you can't overdose on it. If your body has enough iron you just wee the extra away. Also a very good hangover help
I'm 36+3 and only have next week of work to go - thank god. Midwife appointment went well although baby is back to back atm which explains why I'm getting a lot of pressure in my tailbone/bottom.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Happily Married since 20160 -
Yeah it can be really worrying!
Yes I think 25 weeks is the first time for measuring.
I'm really wanting to get it all done now, nursery wise, so much stuff to put away!
Yeah good job the furniture was bought by my nan & parents are buying the travel system as the fund is almost gone! Nct did cost a fair chunk of it though plus stuff like a shelf, essential clothing, baby bath & maternity clothes, it's gone down fast!
Rennies and gaviscon are fine, think your midwife has gone loopy! Rennies are my saviour I get horrible acid reflux, sometimes I've actually been a bit sick in my mouth
Found a dream geni on a Facebook site for £5, can't wait to get it tomorrow what a bargain!
Claire I think you've done really well to get everything you've got so far out of your baby fundwe are lucky too as OHs parents are buying the pram and associated accessories etc. I just don't know if they are buying us the nursery set - though we won't ask, they are buying us loads of stuff for our new house too including paying £3000 to get the heating system replaced before we move in  so I don't think we will be asking whether they will be paying for our nursery set!! If I can get that kiddicare one for half price still when we actually move in, I'll get that one I think.
Wow dream genii for £5 is brilliant, OH brought mine new from m&p in the end it cost him about £45 I think
I get the sick in the mouth thing as well, it's not nice. Also I constantly seem to be burping as well which OH finds hilarious but it's not very pleasant
Smlsave no never heard of spatone - would I just get that at normal supermarkets or will I have to go to h&b? I'll definitely give those a go, thank you.Our first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T0 -
Thank you for all your kind words. After the solicitors being unable to get hold of each other all day I thought I was going to have a tense weekend of not knowing whether we'd lose the house, especially considering we signed contracts a fortnight ago. However at nearly 4pm today I got a call confirming it was all done and the house will definitely be ours!!!!!!!! :j:j:j
Unfortunately the completion date is 24th Feb, but at least it's not fallen through, we don't need to start searching for somewhere else and I get to spend my maternity leave around the corner from family.
I had a good antenatal appointment today, where the midwives were pleased with the baby's heartbeat, position, my blood pressure, my fundal measurement, etc. Apart from the awful PGP my pregnancy has been text book, which is so hard for me to believe and I keep waiting for something bad to happen because nothing else in my life has gone textbook.Buying a house has been a nightmare and there's a good chance I'll find out next week that I've been unsuccessful in applying for a new role within my workplace restructure. However I am going to take my wins where I can find them, as baby and I are fine and we now have a house.
So tomorrow we're off to another nearly new sale and I'm making plans for more lunches with friends and family next week. Ladies on maternity leave, enjoy your time off and don't spend it all cleaning as what if baby comes early. I'm trying to keep calm that I'm 7th on the list, or joint 4th if you exclude duplicate due dates! I'm really not ready for labour.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -

Great news about the house Kynthia!! So pleased it's all gone through for you at last.
So weird you should say about the textbook pregnancy thing! I've been exactly the same and I can't believe that after having taken 2 years to happen and lots of other stressful things going on that it's gone so well. Every midwife appt she gives me a metaphorical gold star for having a completely textbook pregnancy, which of course I'm really pleased with but at the same time I keep wondering if this means I'll have a horrible labour!!!
I've never really been good at anything before so I'm hoping I've found my thing and I excel at birth!!!!
Got a letter through this morning for a HV appointment a week before my due date. I wasn't sure if I'd get one as it's never been mentioned but now I know!!0 -
Kynthia I'm so glad to hear you've finally exchanged. How comes there is now such a delay until final completion? I'm only being nosy and asking because with us buying a house at the moment I'm not really sure how the process works as we are newbies so I'm wanting to try and get an idea in my head of how long it will take!!
At least you can finally relax now knowing you won't have to do the house hunting all over againOur first baby due 25th May 2014 :T
Maternity leave fund: £3000/£6000 :T0 -
Great news about the house Kynthia! :T Shame completion date is so far away though, but at least you have a date!
MSA- you can get SpaTone from Boots/Superdrug etc. I've been using it for months and really noticed the difference.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Another vote for time ! Indigestion acid reflux and heartburn has appeared ! I'm glad to have gotten this far without it though as before pregnancy I suffered and was medicated , it then disappeared for 6 months or so which was nice to feel ' normal' I'm waking up in the night with it now which isn't great but taking two tums seems to help!
We had a lovely meal with OH dad/stepmum last night, they're both so excited, all his family are as it's the first grandchild and they didn't expect I for a very long time if at all so they are over the moon !!
Going to have a lazy weekend my BP was a bit high as I've been out and about most days I think maybe I've just been over doing things.0 -
Great news Kynthia.
I'm hoping I have a good birth & well behaved baby because I've had quite a few issues in pregnancy I feel like I deserve it lol!
Poor bubba had hiccups half of the night. I don't like it I worry it might stress them out!
Off to pick up my dream genii & the blackout blind I ordered for the nursery. I ordered 3 samples from made to measure companies online, got the 3 swatches & they're all exactly the same! Clearly all buying from the same factory. Anyway was gonna cost about £45/50 but then I found one from dunelm which is 19.99 so ordered that, it has to be cut to size though eek! Just hope I like the colour as the store is 10 miles away!
Think I'm going to do a big boots order & add spa tone to it. I haven't been taking the iron tablets as I should as instead of constipation it's gone the other way & they've given me gas, bloating, diahrea and one tablet has that effect for about 3 days! I'd never get off the loo if I took them as prescribed.0
