I am actually starting to buy baby bits now! It feels real to me now!3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:
Happily Married since 20160 -
I had visitors straight away with mine lol!! I really wanted to show my baby off (did help that births were easy). I was literally sitting on birth centre bed prob 30 mins after having dd2, phoning my mum. My parents came down straight away
then in laws in the evening. Hoping to have baby and come straight home this time -all family will be able to visit as soon as they can if everything is fine. My parents would never overstep mark - and would make drinks etc and fuss over me as well as baby!
SamToby - I started buying after having my repeat 20 week scan this weekNeed to do it on a budget - but couldn't resist some neutral sleepsuits in the Asda baby event and am watching some stuff on ebay. Have bought some nappies as well .... (aldi) yay!!!x

Has anyone every got a really sharp pain when they have moved in a certain way ? I just went to get up quickly from the sofa and had a really bad pain somewhere down below ( bum/vagina kind of area) was quick and sharp but very intense....
I was fine right after and still am
Today is miserable outside but we have a dog behaviourist coming out, we have a German Shepherd and he is pretty boisterous and has a bit of stranger fear aggression, whilst we have been managing it so far I thought we would seek some proffessional help to make sure we are taking the correct approach with him. He is fine with people after the initial 5 mins of meeting and is a big softy then but he comes across as a devil dog to begin with.0 -
My friend had her mum in the delivery room with her as well as her husband but I don't fancy it. I think in some ways she's be better than DH if I needed someone to like shout at a dr or get my views across - DH is ready to bow to authority -too long in the army lol, but I just don't like the idea of her seeing everything! She doesn't want to be there either - although I know if in a panic I asked for her she would. So it's fine with both of us.
I never get those women on tv shows who have like 5 people in the room. Mind you I don't think most hospitals allow that.0 -
No - I don't get the crowd in the delivery room either... definately wouldn't want my mum there (& she has never shown any indication of wanting to be there!) In fact she didn't know I was in labour last time - as we only told my sister (as she was having DD1) - so total surprise to her when I phoned her and asked to guess who I was holding0

Hi ladies, glad everyone seems to be doing so well
Con, maybe you just moved a little too quick. I get the odd short pain if I have been laid down on the sofa and get up too quick or lean forward for too long.
Thanks for the advice on witch hazel BZ, will be adding it to my list.
Interesting to read everyone's views on visitors and other family members in the delivery room with them. I saw an episode of a reality tv family (honestly I am not a fan!!!), and she had the whole family with her during delivery, even her brother?! I thought it was really strange and can't imagine having anyone other than the hospital staff and my OH with me.
As for visitors, I am hoping to go to a birthing centre so hope to be home pretty quick. Although I am happy (at the mo) for my parents and brother and his OH to visit afterwards, once we've had time to bond with baby for a while.
Anyway, I'm still in bed at the moment with a nasty coldWas hoping to go out and get some Aldi nappies in their baby event but am aching so much at the moment I don't have the energy to get out of bed let alone to a shop. Good thing is the baby is moving loads at the moment so quite nice to have this 'quiet' time really x

So an eventful 24 hrs for me - went to birth centre 5pm last night 3cm dilated, went for a mooch round the hospital, 8.32pm baby girl arrived at 40+10 weeks! 8lb 4oz with Tens machine and gas and air. Second stage was only 7 mins - no stitches, 150ml blood loss and home by 1am! She's lovely and feeding well. xx0

YAY MPM congratulations! 7 minutes is amazing and such a short stay in hospital. I'm so pleased she's arrived
I think these babies like to come 10 days over! x
Re: maternity pads - don't use Sainsbobs ones, I found they stuck to me which made me even more sore.
Re: witch hazel - I found this really, REALLY helped my graze and also the small piles I had immediately afterwards. Put some on a strip of cotton wool and place between cheeks (sorry for TMI but it seriously helped), go about daily business for a few hours and remove. The next day they were gone and I felt so much more comfortable.
I also found sainsbobs breast pads were rubbish, still loving the bamboo ones I've just bought and I need to investigate this shell business although I'm producing more than enough so I think I'd dump any that collected.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:
