Is the iPhone 5s really worth it?

I'm weighing up whether to buy one but just seems like lunacy that they cost £549! They are good but there is nothing greatly better when compared to my old iPhone 4. Yes, it is a bit faster, the camera is better and it has a fingerprint unlock function... but ios7 on the iPhone is extremely unwieldy with far too many apps and requires several clicks to get to a search option (a benefit of android phones). I am quite dissapointed with ios7 - it looks ok but fails to deliver a more immersive and integrated experience.
Having said that, I am not entirely convinced by the alternatives.... Nexus 5 has a very average camera and I don't like the interface of most Windows phones. Nexus 5 is interesting however and you get 30gb cloud space (compared to Apple's 5gb!)
Anyone else underwhelmed by the iPhone 5s?

You know there are phones that don't have 5 in the name?
Plenty of other high end Android phones0 -
A holiday would be nice..
Care to mention any you would recommend custardy?0 -
Iphones are just bling as are the look-a-like Samsung Galaxy's. The Nexus range is better than the GalaxyDo you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

I'm a bit confused by this, to get to search in iOS7 from any screen you just swipe downwards.
In terms of the phone, I don't think a 5S is a worthwhile upgrade from a 5 but I do think it offers a number of improvements over a 4 or 4S in terms of size and performance (especially with iOS7) personally.
You could trade in your 4 and get around £90 - £100 cashback which would bring the cost down a little but I agree it's still a hell of a lot of money just for a phone!0 -
Apple are just sold on my mate has one, so I should have one. What does it do that others dont....Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I have an iPhone 5 but will probably get a new one at some point. The real issue is will it do what you want? It it does then get one. If you are canny you might be able to get one on a cashback deal. I bought a 64Gb iPhone 5 for effectively £8 upfront after getting £110 cashback and a two year contract. When I added it all together I was getting the phone on a two year interest free loan, plus my call package. Only you can decide. If you have a 5 it is probably not worth upgrading but if you have an older phone then it is.It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0

I don't know what you mean about "several clicks to get to a search option" - if you are talking about searching the internet, just tap on the icon that says "Safari" and type your search in the address bar. If you mean searching your phone for apps, just swipe down (not from the top of the screen) from any screen and type your search in the search bar.
What do you mean about "far too many apps"? I've got 11 screens of apps, but that's because I've downloaded them all - don't download them if you don't want them...0
