    1) Complete a decluttering job from last week. Also, sort out the "bills box".
    2) Complete the end of month diary jobs for January 2015.
    3) Consider an online UHT milk order and any extra food purchases for the month to use alongside what food I already have. Have a think about gardening seeds for spring sowing.
    4) Health forum computer job and a prescription to collect.
    5) TV/Radio catch up.

Hi, hope that any list-makers are getting along okay. I have managed to do quite a lot of mine and will post the results when all is completed.

Sorry not to get back sooner. Appointment wiped me out and think I have a couple of end of winter bugs so struggling a a bit.

    List from now to weekend
    1) Use what I have in stores to cook, portion and fill up gaps in freezer.
    2) All completed sewing to be 'made up' - into cards, lavender bags, etc.
    3) Check that green dress fits comfortably - re-think this week is better than no outfit next Sunday.
    4) Keep chipping away at housework/ tidying/ de-clutter in 15 minute chunks.
    5) Resume walking (have been tackling the ivy and litter that came off the car park) try to get to trees, spend some quiet time observing (birds, signs of spring).
    6) Try no-cost tricks for boosting spirits - squirt of perfume, lots of sun cream used as body lotion as well as eating healthily.
    7) Prepare for going to mum's - she is very negative at the moment and it's dragging me down too, so practice ignoring/ not responding to the comments.
    8) Tackle small admin tasks - less important change of address details, phone calls, thank person who sent me a belated birthday card.

Have a good week and keep telling yourself spring is on the way, winter is nearly over (unless you are a Game of Thrones fan).

    1) Checked if I wanted some old learning French information which is now recycled/rubbish bins. Updated the "bills box".
    2) Checked total cycling miles and grocery expenditure for January 2015.
    3) Online milk order and minimal food purchases to use this month done. Two packets of garden seeds purchased.
    4) Did the computing job but no response yet. Collected prescription.
    5) TV/Radio catch up done alongside "chair jobs".

    So everything done!

List from today (Sunday) until the end of Saturday :-

    1) Presents to buy and/or make this week plus some for the end of the month to think about.
    2) Some kind of "healthy" eating plan based largely around using up what I have in store?
    3) Check the first aid drawer.
    4) Consider more gardening seeds and do tasks around the garden when possible.
    5) Keep finding bits to declutter.

Thanks for your post and message mothernerd. It does seem at times spring is nearly here, only then to awaken to more frost and cold. However, did notice the daffodil bulbs the other day so not long "fingers crossed".

  • Hello All,

This is a brilliant idea! would you mind if i join in as I'm terrible at giving myself things to do and then letting the week pass me by!

a couple of things id like to achieve this week:

    1. Write an update blog and respond to corresponding emails
    2. List some items on Ebay to sell
    3. Read atleast one chapter of the current book I'm reading
    4. Put atleast 2 loads of washing in (I'm terrible at just letting it pile up)

i think all are definitely achievable, I'm just useless haha. Im in scotland on business until Wednesday night so i should find time in the afternoons for the blog and reading hopefully.

    Hi all,

Sorry for the delay. Sometimes things just come to a standstill and then another go at life! So here are the results from last week:-

    1) The presents were both purchased and homemade i.e. locally bought and a recipe made using my own "frugal" or free food "stocks" which took into account the persons food intolerances.
    2) Still a struggle eating "healthier" but keep working upon it and using up what I have very well.
    3) First aid drawer checked.
    4) Ordered some more gardening seeds and the garden tasks progressed well ( weeding, composting and setting up another compost bin).
    5) The decluttering tended to be unwanted paperwork from a file and the usual recycling/rubbish for collection.

 Hello sophieo16 and hi to mavvymoo. Yes, it has been "quiet around here" so surprised to see your posts. Good luck.

My list for the week (Sunday until the end of Saturday) :-

    1) Will clear the path and pavement area of last years woody prunings. The prunings to be collected but the leaf litter/mulch underneath will be used.
    2) Decide about a packet of gardening seeds from ebay by reading about the seeds that make up this particular selection.
    3) One ebay purchase (food ingredient) to be made. Keep checking whether superstores are withdrawing their own brands (e.g. "everyday value", "smart price" etc. A thread on another forum is wondering about the latter of these two). If so, include any required items in my next online order and/or store visit.

Welcome sophieo16 and nice to have you back with us mavvymoo. Dannie so sorry for not getting back to you, one of my bugs turned into a severe sore throat (unplanned Sunday night shop to buy yoghurts and other things I could swallow) and ended up using my emergency inhaler as tightness in my chest was limiting walking.

So progress over the last two weeks has been a bit stop and go.
Ivy has been tackled, blackbirds have now given up on it as a potential family home so may be even more severe and cut it back to a good point for re-training it.
Daily walk has happened but on bad days it was only a shuffle to the library (I can see the library from my back gate and upstairs windows).
Made a card and present for my cousin's 60th birthday celebration and the outfit I struggled to put together worked really well.
Completed pile of finished embroidery is growing steadily but think it may have to be done during the year as I keep finding more bits.
Housework started well last Monday. DS3 was out of his bedroom and had brought out his washing and all his favourite plates and bowls as there were none left in the cupboard. This left enough clear floor space for me to walk in (I had a hip replacement operation 3 months ago and have various restrictions on movements I am allowed to do) gather all the different categories of rubbish (more pots, lost cutlery, plastic, paper and cans for recycling + rubbish rubbish). Spent the rest of the day tackling washing, washing up ('Sunday' dinners and apple crumble and custard from when his friend visited, stashed in his room for about a week) and rinsing recycling and allocating to relevant bins. Tuesday could not move (well bits of me didn't want to and my brain couldn't make them)
122 items have left the house for the charity shops or other family members, including small electricals that have been hanging around since November. 90 old bits of embroidery patterns went out one night and small packages have gone since (decided if I put them in the paper bin I wouldn't bring them back).

List from Sunday 15th February to Sunday 22nd February
    1) Walking
Longest walk last week was an hour and a half but did sit down twice. Mini challenges - take the library books back before Thursday (no longer having the home delivery service), walk to mum's this Friday and walk to hospital for appointment on 27th.

    2) Make and write Thank you card for the library home delivery service.

    3) Housework Tackling it in 15 minute chunks was working well. Aim for 5 to 10, 15 minute chunks per day. Think about ways to tackle mopping.

    4) Stock freezer Decided to keep freezer and fridge freezer in use for the time being (need to bend down to use little fridge so have been using ff since my operation). Have ingredients, need to get meals made, portioned and frozen.

    5) Small admin tasks Ongoing and need to do two more letters to energy suppliers listing the problems they have not tackled (£88 gas bill for a house they have repeatedly been told is empty:eek: - CH only on for viewings). Whole thing is going to the ombudsman next week but am switching supplier here (other house is empty and up for sale so not sure switch is an option).

    6) Pattern audit. Have culled patterns but need to be more strict as still far too many. Need to assess roughly just how long each one would take to complete and ask if it is worth that amount of my time, especially if I just like it and have no particular recipient in mind.

    7) Prepare quilt I have a coverlet with a silk cover (was deep blue now faded to grey/washed denim with white stuffing showing where material has given up). Planned a new patchwork cover last year but didn't have enough suitable material.have now found a quilt cover which will cover most of it. Can do the work with the quilt and cover draped over the bannister rail but the cover needs ironing. Need to move things to get at the ironing board (another job I haven't been capable of till now) so will need to move things slowly and carefully with breaks in between).

Have a good week everyone - still counting the snowdrops and crocuses as they come out.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
