I'm going to carry on with last week's list. Walking is up to 1 and 1/2 hours - not going all that far and a lot slower on the way back but I'm getting there. Keep noticing little improvements like lifting my feet properly and could walk back with the empty bin not push two steps, walk two steps.

Deviated from completing the small projects (have a little pile of completed bits). Found another drawer and a half when I was looking for somewhere to hide chocolate biscuits and am doing bits on a larger piece that has the potential to use up lots of tiny bits - coloured background patches with random dots eg lime green patch with 'dots' in sunshine yellow, mustard yellow and pale (nearly cream) yellow. They're so tiny it doesn't matter if the same colours are used throughout (so can use scraps of 5 different yellows and the same with the other coloured patches). Book is going to the cs when this piece has been completed and if I can get rid of the tiny scraps of thread it makes it easier to see what I have.

Found a pattern for sweet peas with a verse in the middle. Had started it once but not done much and there is a mark on it so I have thrown it away. I am going to start again as it is not going to take long (the verse sews up quite quickly) would be ideal for Mother's Day and I have lots of sweet pea colours (scraps of pinks and violets) that I want to reduce. Also been invited to cousin's 60th in a few weeks so one of the completed cards may be used for that and still thinking about a present. Plus a couple of other pieces that were intended for other relatives I don't see often - lots of people I haven't seen since DS2's 21st/my brother's funeral.

The sewing is giving me lots of thinking time which I needed. Need a new direction for my business so physically and mentally taking stock.

Have a great week everyone - so glad you are here, thought I might be talking to myself this week. (I do that anyway).

    Hello mavvymoo and mothernerd,

Thanks for your posts/messages. Glad that you are doing okay Mav. Also, mothernerd, my weeks going along okay thanks. Yes, I am always "here" but usually post at the end of each task week. I often have wondered whether this thread is "An autobiography of dannie's challenges" so can relate to the "talking to myself" feeling! Glad your walking is doing fine.

List from yesterday until the end of Saturday :-

Sunday tidy up day and put things away. Anything left out will serve as tasks to sort out or complete for this week. Living room particularly needs a good clean and brightening up.

General decluttering in order to trim down household items and hence spend time usefully, until the road conditions are safe for outdoor pursuits.

Check if the outdoor bike cyclometer is working. Keep it indoors in case the wet weather causes deterioration/malfunction.

Use up food perishables and existing food stores still. Make minimal food purchases excluding the "milk" to be ordered. Remember to include more fruit, veg, herbs and spices in the menu. Check for any offers on regularly bought items.

Sort out vegetable cuttings which have been providing salad leaves. Also, indoor plants care.

TV/Radio catching up and fit in enjoyable activities.

    Hello list-makers,

The Sunday tidy up day went well with just one file left out. The living room looked so much better after a thorough clean i.e. polishing, skirting boards cleaned and some wallpaper reglued down. It did "brighten up" the room a little but really it needs painting and/or decorating for a longer lasting fresher look.

General decluttering included throwing away some old paintbrushes, sorting out dead little plantlets that had provided some salad leaves and clearing a path of prunings/leaf litter. Still working through food "stock" items and also the usual recycling/rubbish disposed of.

The bicycle mileometer still works and was removed until needed.

Food grocery plan was okay. Mainly stocked up on the monthly milk but also included three types of vegetables. The daily diet still needs a lot of work and maybe needs a completely new approach to achieve health goals. Kept checking for any offers on regularly bought items.

The indoor plant care task made a big improvement. It was interesting to read about these particular indoor plants. After sorting them out, the window sill and surrounding area where they are located was cleaned making it nicer now to look out from.

TV/Radio catching up done but fitting in "enjoyable activities" was lacking somewhat.

Weather/land permitting - back garden needs starting so aim to clear pavement areas and do some weeding.
Decluttering - want to minimise everything to make life easier and more focussed (hopefully).
Food "stocks" - continue to use up.

    Lost my post *****
List for Week Starting Sunday 25th January 2015

    1) EMBROIDERY
will meet target, somehow and tidy the rest.
    2) IVY Want to get it done but worried about 2 territorial blackbirds - will not disturb them if they build a nest.
    3) WALK increasing time and distance each week.
    4) MEALS Zero food waste but time to start a new batch of meals now there is freezer space.
    5) MEND FREEZER DRAWER Assess the problem and fix if angles are okay (means bending/sitting and not much room/light).
    6) CONTACTS on phone.
    7) MEND JUMPER (replacing draught excluder pattern as not okay for machine sewing yet so don't need pattern hanging around/ getting lost).
    8) HOUSEWORK last week was so cold I spent a lot of time under the bed clothes (fully dressed with a dressing gown on top). Trying to tackle the jobs I can do in 15 minute chunks, aiming for 10 x 15mins a day but okay with less (unblocked the toilet yesterday but today is just about tidying - hanging up clothes, weeding out paperwork). Hopefully will make a difference by the end of the week. Using walks to get some things out to charity shops.
    9) FEBRUARY Plans and budgets.
    10) WRITE UP NST CHALLENGE AND POST My turn to run the thread again.

    Have a great week everyone.

Hi, thanks for the above messages/posts. Last weeks results:-

The pavement jobs consisted of sweeping up, clearing prunings, a quick clean of the window sill, composting leaf litter and neatening some small lawn borders. Very minimal weeding was done.

Decluttering and minimising activities were sorting through unwanted paperwork, general recycling and rubbish sorting, deleting computer bookmarks, using homemade rags (one use job), creating new rags from a worn tea towl and have kept working upon clearing existing food "stocks". Using up food "stocks" continued fairly well.

List from yesterday until the end of Saturday:-

    1) Complete a decluttering job from last week. Also, sort out the "bills box".
    2) Complete the end of month diary jobs for January 2015.
    3) Consider an online UHT milk order and any extra food purchases for the month to use alongside what food I already have. Have a think about gardening seeds for spring sowing.
    4) Health forum computer job and a prescription to collect.
    5) TV/Radio catch up.

Hi Dannie, I'm still here, saw your post yesterday and never got back, sorry.
Most of my list has been done - thread got written, felled and cut up 5 more branches from the ivy (green bin nearly full - sawn a few branches from before hospital admission), more sewing, more housework, jumper has only just dried so not done that yet. I do sit at the garden table for all the chopping up and sawing - 5 branches covered a 4' x 6' table, with one branch hanging from the washing line. It landed on it when it went down and it was easier to move it across hanging from the line than pull it off then work out how to get it off the floor again.

Most of it there is still more to do, so will try to do a proper list later. I have to get myself to the local hospital for one of my annual diabetic checks - eyes today and feet at the end of the month. I hope I can manage to tie my laces and take my own shoes on and off by then otherwise I will feel like an idiot. I know they have to do it for some patients but would be good to have progressed that far. Should be nearly out of the acute stage now.
