Thanks to mavvymoo for encouraging me to post as I have been really focused to get these things done, which I have been putting off for ages. I just need to make sure I stay on top of normal housework as well as completing my list.
Feeling quite pleased with myself.
I am so glad its working for you and its great to have you on board with us all
As I said it makes so much difference posting on here and it really does make you much more focused.
I must say my house is looking better than it has for months and lots of stupid little jobs done which have been on my list for absolute ages  Also reading peoples lists makes you think yes I need to stick that on my list too:)
So well done you:D

Small list this week as got ill at the end of last week and my fly lady was slapdash. I want to clean thoroughly this week, so that I can be slapdash next week without having a dirty house.0 -
Okay, start with the positive
Basic self-care (J1 - 4) On target with sleep, but one sleepless night. Bought veg for soup-making, but eating HM stew and curries from the freezer. Food diary re-started then tailed off, do better this week. Have walked every day but it has been a struggle and barely made it through my exercise class last Monday, had to do sit down versions half way through. This is going into third week of feeling slow/sluggish but not convinced I am ill enough to go to the doctor's.
5) One couch cleared and clean, second mostly clear + small set of shelves added (couldn't move stuff from couch onto them as I have told DS1 he can take them - so 6 separate piles of stuff in 1 small filing cabinet) + found duster on a stick on one of the couches so took it for a spin round the picture rails).
6) Large wardrobe not put together. INTO THE WEEK FROM HELL.
DS1 had to swop his day off to go on an 80 mile round trip to clear his name and get paperwork to prove it as nasty lazy evil bailiffs were threatening to come round from 6am and take anything from my house that I couldn't prove belonged to me unless he paid them £450 (or go to jail). Ruined a no-spend day getting a taxi to and from our local police station only to find they now shut at 5-30pm. Got phone help from a lovely Merseyside policewoman (bailiffs wouldn't tell him when the 'offence' had taken place - so he could prove he was at work 40 miles away or give him the phone number for the Magistrates Court involved) and loads of advice from this site. So no-one in the house slept that night -I nodded off 3 times briefly and I could hear that the others weren't asleep either, DS1 bothered as it could affect his job and the proposed house move and his girlfriend had wanted to buy flights for the summer at a discount (her mother lives in Greece, visited here at Xmas and they are supposed to go to stay with her in Summer). Week from hell continued - the cat got ill, very glad of all the rags as went through a kitchen roll in 2 days, thought I had her stabilised but she died in her sleep on Thursday night. She was very old and has had these spells of not keeping her food down for the past 3 years (can now fix in 2 days). So cleaned and wrapped the cat, took her to the old house, woke DS2(his cat, last of 4, 3 from the same litter), dug a hole and buried her. Packed the cat carrier, food and litter to donate to cat's protection. So my get up and go has got up and went. Dare not even say ....... because this is life and the next curve ball may be heading this way. Notice on front door been read by the postman - luckily it's a long enough drive that none of the neighbours have ventured up to read it (and I haven't done the curtains so I would see them).
9) Not a lot done outside as it has been persisting down and haven't decorated the dining room cupboard but one lot of plastic shelves are outside the other is in the space under the large cupboard with all the tools on them and two of the extra doors will fit when Mr builder comes back to finish the fireplace and the space (both need small platform bases).
NEXT WEEK
Continue self-care regime.
The main business is getting ready for DS1's move (2 bedrooms + half the kitchen cupboards + the freecycle fridge/freezer in the shed Maximum clutter clearing points for me this week.
The plan is to get as much of the furniture downstairs into the hall and front room on Thursday or Friday, ready for the van.
One evening we have to do the re-scheduled trying to get the big wardrobe together.
I have already washed two complete sets of bedding (need to get dry) - he will use his sleeping bag until the move and he has asked if he can leave dirty laundry with me until they sort out a washing machine (so another 6 -8 loads).
The second couch needs to be cleared and cleaned (+ little shelves) as they are having that 'for the time being' (thought it would be useful to have the house as clear as possible when I put it up for sale).
I have just offered him a pair of curtains from the just washed pile.
He needs tools to put his bed back together (I alternate between anyone not having a bed to sleep in and downsizing to a 2/3 bed house and trying to to find room for 5 double beds nightmare). Just given him a roll of parcel tape as he doesn't remember if the house has curtain track or a pole.
I think I need another list - there are other things he has asked for/I've volunteered, one of the airers, laundry basket (I bought 2 for DS3's room one for lights one for darks with instructions to bring them down when they are full- the only time they get used is when I go in to tidy his room, they are useful for sorting the floor- coverage into different categories).
I have just told him that when he goes to collect his personal reference from his friend, he has to go to the old house to collect a pile of crates (the library were thowing them out so I went in to ask if I could take them out of the skip -useful for moving also part solves my what to do with the garden dilemma as I can grow things on in pots, grouped in the crates and they will look neat and organised for another few months).
He is also going through his wardrobe and I have to go through the discards - anything I want/ remainder to go to charity shop (or charity mega wheelie bin in the library).
So I think that will be enough to get through. if I have any 'spare' time soup-making, curtain sewing and gentle gardening sound like peaceful, nurturing activities.
Hope you all have a good productive week and good luck it anyone can get rid of more stuff than me this week (I shouldn't say that - the van might break down and if gf has given notice her stuff could end up here as well, I might be in the shed).:jMy mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Hi Everyone
Hope you've all had a good week. Mine hasn't been too bad but I'm still coughing like a navvy on Capstan and I have never smoked in my life. I did managed to get some things done though:
1: Try and get better, feel like poo at the moment Am better than I was but am still coughing and sniffling. I invested in some Multi Vitamin syrup so hopefully that might help as feel exhausted!!!
2: Send that You View Box back to Talk Talk Did this yesterday, YAY!!!!!
3: Try and spend less and make sure I log all spending again. I've been a bit lax this week and haven't really been watching or monitoring what I've been doing, also I know I've spent more than I should have!!!!!! I really NEED to get myself motivated with this again.
4: Try again to clean and declutter, I don't seem to be getting very far with this as I have absolutely no energy whatsoever. Well I've cleaned up a bit but my plan for this weekend hit a snag as my washing machine has broken. Am hoping I can get it repaired as its less than 2 years old!!!
5: Continue taking lunch to work, am getting used to doing this now. Continued doing this!!!!
Have a good week everyone. xxxxxxx
This week I will:
1: See about getting washing machine repaired as I do not want to spend the rest of my life dragging bags of washing to the launderette. Hope it is repairable as I really do not/cannot afford to buy a new one.
2: Keep taking multivitamin syrup and go to the doctors about my horrible cough if it hasn't disappeared by Wednesday.
3: Sort finances out again. Yep!!!! Its that time of the month again, payday on Friday but there is still nothing left once I have paid everything. However I am expecting to receive a small bequest in the not too distant future and have been told that I am getting a pay rise as well this year so that should help with my financial crisis, also quarterly bonus is included in this months pay!!!! Will also try yet again to get OH to make some kind of financial contribution since I know he has found his bank card. Probably won't be successful in doing this but I can try though to be honest asking him is so stressful at times its actually easier not to bother and just to keep carrying on whilst trying not to let resentment and anger build.
4: Try to log all spending again and try not to take taxis from the train station home just because it is pouring with rain, freezing cold, and I am exhausted and coughing!!!!
5: Sort out if and when I am working over half term also childcare arrangements if I do have to work. Also make sure OH contacts bailiffs who have now written to him.
4: Try again to clean and declutter.
5: Try to stay positive and avoid getting too depressed. Keep taking small steps. Life will improve and I have to keep reminding myself of this.
6: Continue taking lunch to work and with the scrambled eggs for breakfast, also give up drinking Coca-Cola!!!! ( I have promised DS and both DD1 and DD2 that I will do this!!!!)
7: Learn to count ( looking at the list above lolxxxx)
Have a good week everyone. xxxxxxx
