    Hi everyone,

Our lists completed and proud to say that dd did complete the mile swimming challenge despite the fact that they only have 7 swimming lessons with school per year! I think they had 3 or 4 before the challenge. However, she did a lot of swimming outside of school up to age 7 but gave up after no more options except to join club, which was too expensive . It is a shame as when she races in class is fastest despite the fact that others are still doing weekly lessons outside of school. :

Combined list for both of us this week....

    Enjoy week off school.

Hope everyone has a great week cc

  • Hi Everyone

Hope you are all well and have had a good week. My second attempt today at writing this as I managed to lose the first version but before I go any further can I just say that I hope none of you have been adversely affected by the wind, rain, cold and generally atrocious weather we've been having. My heart goes out to you if you have been affected by it all

    Last week:

1: See about getting washing machine repaired as I do not want to spend the rest of my life dragging bags of washing to the launderette. Hope it is repairable as I really do not/cannot afford to buy a new one. I ended up buying a new machine as " Mr I'll see to it" was not seeing to it or " sorting it out" and I really need a washing machine before Christmas 2014!!!!! I ended up using my quarterly bonus and buying a BEKO as having paid over £500 for a Hotpoint which has lasted me less than 2 years I couldn't really justify buying another expensive machine!!!! Expensive is not necessarily better I'm finding and I won't be too upset if it breaks after a year or so although having bought the 3 year warranty as well I'm hoping it won't. Is something happening with Hotpoint things because not only has my washing machine broken but now my dishwasher which was purchased at the same time as the washing machine and is also a Hotpoint has also developed a fault???? Strange!!!!!! but I can survive without a dishwasher for a few weeks at least.

2: Keep taking multivitamin syrup and go to the doctors about my horrible cough if it hasn't disappeared by Wednesday. Cough and cold are still here so I went to the doctors, as I was feeling really poorly its not a chest infection and all I can do is wait it out. I haven't taken multivitamin syrup every day this week but must start doing so again.

3: Sort finances out again. Yep!!!! Its that time of the month again, payday on Friday but there is still nothing left once I have paid everything. However I am expecting to receive a small bequest in the not too distant future and have been told that I am getting a pay rise as well this year so that should help with my financial crisis, also quarterly bonus is included in this months pay!!!! Will also try yet again to get OH to make some kind of financial contribution since I know he has found his bank card. Probably won't be successful in doing this but I can try though to be honest asking him is so stressful at times its actually easier not to bother and just to keep carrying on whilst trying not to let resentment and anger build. Did this and am skint again already, used quarterly bonus to buy washing machine. OH is still making no kind of financial contribution whatsoever which is not good and I am running out of ideas for dealing with this. Its also making me very sad.

4: Try to log all spending again and try not to take taxis from the train station home just because it is pouring with rain, freezing cold, and I am exhausted and coughing!!!! Well I failed to keep a spending log but have not used any taxis at all this week.

5: Sort out if and when I am working over half term also childcare arrangements if I do have to work. Also make sure OH contacts bailiffs who have now written to him. Spoke to my manager who assures me that I do not have to work this week yay!!!! Which also means that I do not have to worry about childcare. OH says he has contacted bailiffs but to be honest I don't believe him because he's the original Mr "I'll see to it" says he'll do things and then doesn't.

4: Try again to clean and declutter. This will be a MUST DO for the coming week.

5: Try to stay positive and avoid getting too depressed. Keep taking small steps. Life will improve and I have to keep reminding myself of this. Well I'm trying.

6: Continue taking lunch to work and with the scrambled eggs for breakfast, also give up drinking Coca-Cola!!!! ( I have promised DS and both DD1 and DD2 that I will do this!!!!) I did breakfast and took lunch to work every day but still need to stop drinking Coca Cola.

    So this week I will:

1: Start taking multivitamin syrup again and try to get well. I'm not working this week so hopefully will have a bit of time to have a rest. I just want to stay at home and keep warm to be honest.

2: Spend some time with my children. Its half term and I'm not working also, they are not at school!!!! The possibility of going to see the LEGO movie has already been raised by DD2.

3: Attempt to clean and declutter my bombsite of a house. I'm not working so hope I have a bit more time to do this because it really needs it.

4: Look into the idea of getting some counselling for myself because I'm sick of living as I am at the moment and feel really sad and depressed. I think I could use some help from somewhere. Work have a counselling scheme so I might give them a ring.

Have a good week everyone and stay safe xxxxx

Self care regime is doing well, will continue and add a couple of bits
Sleep generally doing well, couple of very early nights but a couple of bad ones (woke at 2 am and 3 am and barely got any sleep after that)

Eat - eating well from the freezer, want to use up what's been there for a while and build up stocks again, starting by using what we already have in and writing list for March. Just made 5 portions potato and leek soup, 4 portions onion soup, 2 broccoli and fish pie, 1 dino dinner (beans with cheesey mash on top), cauli cheese for dinner, boiled 6 eggs and 2 large bowls rice salad. If I can do at least one big pan a day + cake and biscuits (special diabetic recipes, have to be kept in freezer as low sugar) when I go to mum's on Friday (my oven still hit and miss).

Food Diary keep up. Need to portion (how many of each food group) last week's meals before I go to the Health Trainer on Wednesday.

Walk doing better - worked out what is wrong with my leg. Bed in attic is 'Japanese ' style ie frame surround is 6 inches off the ground, mattress about 9inches and headboard about 2 feet high. To get out I pull on the headboard with my right arm, push on the mattress with my left and push off the ground with right leg (= intense shooting pains at odd times during the day in right thigh and side of leg). It was aching last night but less intense and more 'chance to heal and please don't make me do that again' way. Knew going to the attic was increasing my activity levels but hadn't factored in damage to specific parts. DS3 brought my mattress downstairs last night (much warmer) and it was just so much better. try to add a few 10 minute exercises as well.

Need something else but not sure what to call it - grooming maybe. Left my hair washing a couple of days too long (it was so cold), face looked a bit 'muddy' (winter skin). Little things but need to do a bit more - hand cream by the sink, moisturise at night as well as morning - top drawer needs sorting so I may find a facepack in a corner. Extra ten minutes a day, put a halt to the slippery slope (easy to neglect yourself when things are bothering you). Will pin a note above the bathroom mirror and try to make it a habit.

    SO
The couches and shelves were cleared and cleaned. The move (mostly ) happened. Van load taken yesterday, then DS1 came back with gf's uncle and took another car load. Today he has taken another lot of shelves (I had to dismantle them) and the contents of the fridge. He has the day off tomorrow, so hopefully the rest will go (bus hopping) by tomorrow evening. Things were getting rather fraught by the end of the week (hence the 2 sleepless nights) but so much space now - current contents of the front room are two-seater couch, small set of shelves, small filing cabinet, one dining room chair, one standard lamp and about 8 shoeboxes and two carrier bags worth of DS1s (plus stairs 1 - 8 small bags and boxes and 3 large boxes at the top of the stairs). May see if I can persuade him tot ake another set of shelves, even if my things end up in boxes till I can go through them again.

Last two days I have :-
Done 3 loads of washing - attic bedding + odd clothes and bathroom towel.
Planted a tree and moved three shrubs into larger containers
Swept the floor in the vacated room and cleaned the window
Cleaned the fridge and put my food in it (been in the vestibule since before Christmas.

    Next week JOBLIST
    1 Continue self-care

    2 Bins
Recycle bin is 3/4 full - start with basic cleaning to use up odds and ends bottles. Open any tins to be used in next few days. Request repair to green bin - lid came loose in previous bad weather, is now off altogether. (these go out tomorrow night). Black bin - fill a binbag next 2 days and try for another by weekend. Paper bin quite full (only every 4 weeks) with DS1 mags and paperwork, but try a little paperwork purge before next week's collection.

3 Set off more SEEDS If weather is good plant more shrubs/blackcurrant bushes and tidy. Leave loose fence panel as may be more on the way. Scrub paving back and front of house.

4 Buy Crack paint. Paint back bedroom ceiling. DS3s ceiling if get the chance (Saturday depending on what else needs doing). DS3's gf coming here?

5 Write out a full jobs list for bedrooms and the bathroom. Re-list unfinished jobs from previous weeks. Make a start on anything which does not involve buying materials.

6 Clean Kitchen including adjusting/ fitting extra shelves in cupboards and sorting spices and pulses.

7 Accounts and Making money - try to find the money for sorting out the attic stairs (+ driveway?). DS3's friend coming 1st weekend in March to assess possible costs (which materials can be re-used).

8 Dining Room needs love and attention. front room, hallway and kitchen were all used to store furniture to be removed. Everything else went in the dining room - it needs rescuing.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Awwww hugs loobylou2 sounds like you're having a right time of it. Hope you have a better week.

    W/C 17th Feb

    Meal plan -

    Sort out baba's clothes
Declutter my wardrobe, however this won't leave me much to wear... :D
Sit up programme (10/20 every other day)
Set up my external hard drive and move all of my photos to it
Order photos for the numerous frames I have sitting around the house.
    Take clothes to charity shop
    Tidy and organise bookshelves
    Tidy Tupperware cupboard
    Organise over stairs cupboard
    Dust and Hoover nursery
    Keep on top of kitchen
Allocate a room per day for housework (and actually do it)

Have allocated last weeks uncompleted jobs to top of this list. Am away at the weekend so need to cram this all into the week. Not sure I'll complete everything here but it's easier to write it all down so I remember everything that needs doing and can carry stuff over. Need to use my evenings to do my photo stuff rather than just sit and watch carp on TV.

Hope everyone's doing ok and well done on completing all of those niggly jobs. :D

  • Morning, hope everyone's well.

I have to admit that I didn't do a thing from last week's list, and there wasn't much on it

I've a bit more time this week, but am having difficulty getting myself to do things. I suppose they're just things that I don't particularly want to do and that's why they still need doing!

    Anyway, this week I will

clean one room really well every day
    declutter lots of things!
    finish the ironing completely
look back through my lists on here and do anything that's not done
drink water/take vitamins/eat properly every day this week
    clean and prettify the bathroom
tidy some work stuff every day
go out and get some sunshine every day (fingers crossed)
    sew button on coat
    clean boots
write to close an old bank account

    Have a good week.
