Hi Everyone
Hope you are all ok and have had a good week. Things have been a little bit better for me this week as I've been taking baby steps and not trying to be wonder woman!!!! From last weeks list:
A: Take my lunch to work ( I really must start doing this) Have done this for all of the 4 days I have been working this week.
B: Eat less, I have a tendency to binge when I am upset or stressed. Have done this as well or at least I think I have!!!!
C: Make sure that at the very least all minimums are paid on cards and that bills are up to date. I get paid on the 15th of every month so look at this as the start of the month from a financial point of view. I did this on Wednesday and also bought myself an annual travel pass so no more worrying about bus/train fares for the coming year, I also sorted out monthly passes for the children.Sort out a budget of some kind for myself and set up standing orders to save with Credit Union. I still need to organise this properly and set up SO with the Credit Union although I have been logging all spends and expenditure on my phone. Am absolutely broke again now though having paid all bills etc.
E: Return You View Box to Talk Talk and make sure they credit my account. Not done this yet but this is a priority for next week. I have however contacted bailiffs who are chasing after OH and advised them of his health problems and DD1's school who I feel owe me a refund of some money which I paid for her to go on a school trip which she subsequently withdrew from.I want the money £145 I paid back.
F: Look at another TV package, though I don't really want one, its more for the kids than myself. I've cancelled SKY as realised I couldn't afford it. Not done this yet but to be honest I'm not that bothered about the TV though the kids are. I never watch the thing!!!!!
G: Try to get some money out of OH yet again, he has lost his bank card and claims his account has been emptied, might try and take a trip to the bank with him to get things sorted out if I can because I have no idea what is happening with his money or account and am sick and tired of supporting him financially. Tried and failed miserably yet again with this one I'm afraid, he's quite happy to do nothing about sorting it out and to let me continue supporting him. I told him he has to move out at one stage but really I haven't got the heart to throw a 77 year old man with Dementia out onto the street. Various people have suggested applying for Power of Attorney and I am going to try and find out more about this but I doubt very much that OH would ever agree to me having POA for him given that He's in denial about his dementia diagnosis!!!!
HG: Try to stop feeling so upset, nervy and stressed with myself and worrying so much. I'm still really worried but feel a bit better than I did. I'm lucky because I have a job which although stressful I generally enjoy most of the time and I have been kept busy with that this week.
This coming week I am going to:
A: Continue taking lunch to work
B: Sort out direct debits and transfer them from the bank account I am wanting to close to the bank account I am wanting to use!!!!
C: Set up credit Union Standing OrderTry to remain calm and patient with OH and children when they are being annoying, exasperating and downright frustrating ( This is much more easily said than done!!!!)
E: Send evidence re OH's dementia to Bailiffs who are chasing him and You View box back to Talk Talk once I can find the envelope to send it back in.
F: Sort out Pet insurance
G: Have a clean and declutter as much as I am able to given that I am working all week and won't be at home much.
H: Try to relax
I: Get my hair done, I haven't been near the hairdressers in months!!!!loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!:eek:0 -

Woohoo Done this and swapped bedrooms so ready to start our bedroom in the next week.I am pleased with myself and this challenge is really helping me to focus so thank you everyone :T
Also went to the gym 3 times (should be 4 really) But did finish the room :T Kept up with housework and cleaned the carpets in the bedrooms (as my friend lent me her carpet cleaner )So thought I would do them all in-case she needs it back
So this week gym 3 times minimum and to start decorating the other room and get a fair bit done in there.Cant put I will finish it as that would be to much pressure :rotfl:

Okay some of these are a bit long so I might just be making a start on them
1 PUT EVERYTHING BACK IN THE KITCHEN
Three of us (me plus Mr and Mrs builder) have worked for two days and I have an actual real normal looking kitchen with cupboards and shelves and the cooker in a housing instead of on bricks. The washing machine and fridge finally got cleaned (they have been holding up the worktop so couldn't be moved either backwards or forwards) and there were still more lumps of dried plaster behind them (just when I thought that particular job was done.
2 I WILL ATTEMPT TO STOCKTAKE AS I GO and tape lists to the inside of the cupboard doors. This maybe an ongoing project. Started by listing tins and dry goods as I was moving them out of the kitchen but the dining room is now so full that we can't get outside and getting the house functioning takes priority over listing things - I have so much more space than I am used to (pre- damp proof course the base cupboards were so damp that tinned food cans left rusty rings after two days, for the past few years I have only used them for diy/decorating and gardening equipment) that I should be able to open a cupboard door and see exactly what is in it.
3 FIRST MEETING WITH HEALTH TRAINER
4 WALK EVERY DAY at least 30 minutes. Good start - today I got up at 5am{couldn't sleep and went out for nearly 2 hours) Bit cold, bit wet (not too much of either), nothing exciting to look at. Tomorrows walk should be a barrel of laughs after that.
5 FILL THE GREEN BIN Bin day Tuesday. Usually bring leaves from son's (my old house) to chop up for leaf mould. As I am planning to move house I will tidy his yard (overgrown and he is too ill to sort it) and carry the leaves back as green bin is nearly empty - the Christmas tree went in last time.
6 SHED DOOR sort out the remaining bits and get the door back on the shed (no lock but will leave that till next week)
7 SHOWER RAIL had a go at this in the Summer. It was very rusty - eldest son got it down for me and I attacked it with astonish oven cleaner (remember my brother bringing some back when he was 19 to get the rust off his motorbike) I left it to 'bake' on and it was much improved but not perfect. been looking on-line and the cheapest replacement was £60, all the rest were £100-150. Builder suggests rubbing it with tinfoil. Even if it takes a whole day it should be well worth it, if I succeed.
8 CLEAN FIREPLACE need to sweep the fireplace clean so that we can check if the recent roof and chimney repairs have worked . If more soot appears, rain is still getting in. If not, builder can finish fireplace (final stage of damp proof course, started in October. Dependent on 1 as there are a lot of things - kettle, toaster, microwave, basket of cleaning materials, steps, airer, spare cupboard doors - between me and the fireplace.
9 CURTAINS For the front room and dining room -Part one. Need to get new plug on the sewing machine and make sure it is in working order. Also dependent on 1 because machine is in the dining room cupboard which is blocked by tins, cereals etc which we needed access to while kitchen was out of action. Need table cleared for cutting material etc.
10 BRING BASKETS FROM OLD HOUSE easy job - include in daily walk or on way back from exercise class.
To end
JOBS NOT LISTED BUT I WANT CREDIT FOR
A After the builders left on Saturday I took down 5 wall units by myself (left the last one as we had already discovered some bright spark had drilled a hole in the side and and put an electric cable through it) and took them into the front room to clean them whilst watching tv.
B Gave the builders a carload of fuel for their wood -burning stove last week. found a few bits since then and had it on the scribbled list to pass it on but they have taken it (before it got onto this official list)My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
