Nsd lost as I had to pay for parking (had to travel to a different city so didn't know where there was any free parking). Will fill car with fuel today too, clustering my spends to achieve nsds.
Right tea to make, shower then ready for my nightshift. Bleurgh. Would rather snuggle at home but needs must.

I agree that slowcookers are fab and inexpensive to use. I do a whole chicken in mine and every last scrap of meat comes off with no hassle although the carcass falls apart too so you need to check carefully for bones.
I have decided that children are a very expensive luxury. DD started Guides last night and they seem to do a lot more trips than Brownies, she came home with two letters for trips both in May one costing £20 and the other £31. I will be sitting down with her this weekend to discuss.
Spendy day today, had a hair appointment for a cut and my roots doing, I had budgeted £40 but it was £57:eek: so the extra will have to come out of our entertainment budget. I only get the colour done about twice a year but that takes me a tad over a £10 beauty spend.
I also had £30 left on my Debenhams Beauty Card so I have ordered something for £32, they have 500 bonus points on for spends over £35 but I would have had to spend £3 more for something I didn't want to get £5 points back, so essentially that would have only been a £2 bonus. This is a big step forward for me. Anyhoo that's another £2 spend today.
Nothing else to be spent today, we are staying in tonight and playing games with the kids.

Hello, back again for another update.
As everyone else has said... the slow cooker is not that expensive to run at all and although you will spend £15 on it, you will make that back in the long run as you can buy cheap cuts of meat (which cooked normally would be tough) and the slow cooker will make it tender and delicious.
These are the recipes I am looking at just now:

Today is a spend-free day so that is number 6!!
:j
I had to walk from the car park to an appointment today which took about 15-20 minutes each way so that is my first exercise period done. That's 1/12.
Hope everyone has had a brilliant day.Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

The last of the purple soup has been consumed. But there's still half a purple cabbage in the cupboard, so you never know...!
Made it to the end of the week. Those of you who work weekends +/ or nights have my total respect. Moving up to 4 days (from 2) and having to sort out what to do with dd has been the trickiest part. I have a wonderful neighbour, with a daughter in the same class, who is helping enormously as she's on maternity leave. That of course means that one day soonish, she'll be back to work, and that will require nig changes all round! Will sort that out when it happens.
Now I'm on day 10/10 of no sugar or grains, I'm wondering if I can make 31.... Might aim for 15 first, then see. NSDs up to 6, so I hope to make 20. It does involve planning, of course, and as I said before, it's the milk that usually means we have to spend. Dh is going away for about 10 days in Jan so it'll be interesting to see how much the milk consumption drops.
Best go and do some prep for dd's bday party tomorrow afternoon...!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Evening all,
First week back at work this week and although it was an easy week of teaching, I crammed in as much planning and marking as possible, so I am still knackered. Currently, I am falling asleep on the sofa waiting for OH to come home and have dinner.
Speaking of sleeping, hope you got your nap in your onesie MrsGSR. When I struggled to sleep due to an over active mind, I had some tablets from the doctors that were brilliant and made me relax enough to be able to sleep. Hope the doctors have a similar solution for you too.
Today was SFD number 6and tomorrow will probably be food shop day. If I was living alone, I would be much betted at SFDs as I would just eat everything in the house, no matter how random the combination, but OH is a little more traditional with his combinations.
Walked all the dogs today so got plenty of exerciseand have still managed to avoid the alcohol, although I don't usual drink much anyway.
Hope you all have lovely relaxing evenings or easy nightshifts x xLBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Really must look into a slow cooker, especially if there is one so cheap at Mr M.
I was really impressed by Ald1 today. Did our first proper shop since Christmas and all for £43. Way cheaper than I was expecting."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0 -
Hi everyone
Finally I'm feeling human again after feeling really poorly all week - I finally gave in to the bugs & took Wed off work (1st sick day in 5 years!) I just had to have a duvet day to try & get over whatever has got me!
Anyway, here's my update on this week:- 5/20 SFDs so far :j
- Managed to take lunch to work every day this week that I've been in :j
- Put petrol in my car tonight as it was empty, but I have a separate bank account for petrol so this has already been budgetted for :j
- Instead of buying another pair of waterproof trousers (costing approx £30) as the zip was broken, I have unpicked the broken one & just ordered a replacement from Ebay for £1.89 (free P&P too) :j
- Spending diary is up-to-date :j
- 4 new items onto Ebay, to finish Monday next week :j
- Potential 4 lessons to teach this weekend, to earn some extra money :j
- Meal plan is being stuck to! :j
The only downside was a sneaky online purchase of 2 microwaveable soup mugs from Lakeland this morning  however there is a small amount of logic in that they will allow me to take soup to work for lunch... not that a plain old bowl would do... old habits die hard!!
I think that's everything - well done everyone on all of your hard work so far. It's really motivating to see this challenge being updated by so many!

Not just me then, that's starting to bring spending days together? I feel like I'm kind of cheating in a funny way when I do that, but it does feel really good when I get home at night & I haven't spent any money!!
