  • Applemuncher – I agree about this time of the month being just pottering on with the challenge, this is always when I feel a bit low about it too – the initial excitement and drive is over, it’s too soon to be looking at end of the month totals to pay off so there’s just this no man’s land thing going on…. Trying to keep me pecker up tho. Reading the thread helps as it reminds me what others are going through and gives me a short sharp kick up the sense of perspective.. Mrs GSR – hope you are doing ok.. hugs.. and hope the docs helps. Xspender – eek! was that the planned redundancy ? hope you are ok… Crazycatlady1 – hope your DGD gets well soon, what a nightmare. And Traveller, the heartbreak of a 5 year old- aww – so touching, bless… I don’t recall 5 years old being like that!

Well spend day here as weekly shop done in my lunch hour so brimmed car with petrol too. Shop came in at £30 and should last till next weekend for both of us for all of our meals including work lunches so all good. Didn’t think I could downshift any more before, but got value washing up liquid and rice so yeay! Went for swim after work so tick on the exercise too. Despite achieving I still feel meh.

  • Sorry to hear your news X-spender.

Hope your granddaughter is better soon Crazycatlady.

    SFD number 4 today.

No run this morning. And I have just had a glass and a bit of rose. Again. Tut tut tut.

All this talk of slow cookers has inspired me to get mine out this weekend and make a casserole. Meal planning in my head at the moment - need to write it all down so I can write my shopping list in the morning. Want to get some batch cooking done this weekend so I have meals for the week.

Have a good weekend everyone - and hope the weather is good with you. Check in again tomorrow.

Evening all :) Just a quick check in from me. Had a few spendy days but mostly clocking up the SFDs.

I had a bit of a disaster with my freezer - it needs defrosting and the ice build up overnight caused the door to open slightly. All the food is wasted  I'll have to build in time - somewhere?? - this weekend to fix it. And to build up my little stash of lentil stew/chickpea and kale casserole and various soups!

On the exercise front, I'm finally off the starting block :D I managed 4 yoga classes this week and can fit in one more tomorrow night after work. It's amazing how much strength is lost after just a month off!

So, my monthly totals so far....
    SFD: 8/20
    Food: £13.01/£100
    Misc: £37.08/£100 (inc a £13.50 Beauty Spend :o)
    Petrol: £30/£60

I hope you're feeling better soon MrsGSR - both my DH & I suffer with anxiety & he is an insomniac and takes medication to help.

I can totally understand how you feel as a "highly functioning depressive" - no-one at work knows my struggles! Do you have someone to confide in & get things off your chest? It really does make such a difference & it's definitely it, even if you have to let down your guard a little

    xx

I do yes, I am very lucky to have some amazingly supportive friends and family which I am very thankful for. Trouble is (i find) that unless people have experienced it, it's hard to understand how that person might be feeling.
Thanks for your post KUTAT :)
