Pity they don't accept copies certified by the Post Office.
"We accept copies of documents certified by solicitors, accountants or bank/building society staff.".
Good luck getting a bank to certify a document so you can open an account with a competitor, so I guess that limits you to solicitors and accountants. They are not going to be cheap.
I think they will. Their form is just pre the PO service.
I agree, getting any bank/BS to certify anything for you is no mean feats these days, even if you are a long-standing customer. I still remember Nationwide telling me that they "don't do" certifications any longer, even though I had about 10 different accounts with them at the time.
Solicitors will do it for about £20 but you might need an appointment.0 -

It's not a quasi/pseudo/pretendy current account - It's a savings account and will have been ID searched as such.
YBS have seen something like a CIFAS marker or similar they don't like to decline the application.YorkshireBoy wrote: »You can set up SOs and pay DDs. Like I said, it's a pseudo basic bank account. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

It's a strict savings account only if you don't get the associated card (then you can't withdraw using an ATM, and can't do bill payments)0 -
Can you give a 'bulletproof' definition of 'current' and 'savings' then?
Not actually, but having the appearance of (a current account)
But the general definition of a current account is an account which serves to handle this month's money, wages in/bills and cash out. Typically pays no, or very little, interest, and usually comes with a chequebook*.
Why on earth would anyone want a 'savings account' paying 0.05% AER?
* I concede this one doesn't, but then I didn't say it was a "current account"...I said it was a "pseudo basic bank account".0 -
A chequebook definitely can't be used as a distinctive feature.
I think many (most?) basic current accounts don't come with a chequebook. At least this was the case for the only one basic account that I ever had (as I wanted a cash card specifically) with Nationwide.0
