Your situation is strange - maybe the address details didn't match when they did the identity check??
Well i sent my passport and hmrc proof of address, still wont tell me why they declined.
However ive opened a nationwide savings account fine.
And also, paying the £75 for the certificate, im still not sure if they'll open the account, as i went bankrupt owing them a few hundred, maybe thats why the savings account i opened with them was closed after 2 days??0 -

Not sure who you are talking about now (Natwest? YBS?) but if you went bankrupt owing a bank money, it is not surprising that they will not ever let you have any account with them again. Tough but nothing you can do about.
Well thats the thing, im not sure if natwest declined me for the savings account because they saw the 'bankruptcy' marker but not the 'discharge marker' which most banks don't see, which is why natwest ask for certificate of discharge paper, or is it because i the debt i incurred when i declared the debt when i went bankrupt.0 -

Why are you still harping on about the NatWest?
Yorkshire Building Society bank with the NatWest, but that is the limit of their relationship. Presuming that you are still talking about the YBS Cash Transactor account (or any account with YBS) then the NatWest haven't declined you for anything because you haven't applied for anything with them. They won't know you have applied to YBS. YBS are not answerable to the NatWest, they don't refer applications for accounts to them and, likewise, any of your previous dealings with NatWest won't be known to the YBS, -unless they are recorded at credit reference agencies. Why can't you get it into your head that YBS and NatWest are two completely separate organisations?0
