Do you realise there are 3 CRAs?bradztheman wrote: »Surely my credit report isnt lying when it says there are no cifas markers.
Have you checked all 3?
You need to start writing to all these institutions, asking why they've declined you. Hopefully one of them will give you a clue!
Did YBS have sight of your discharge papers?...because if I remember correctly your CRA report(s) still show you as an undischarged bankrupt?0 -

No, ybs didnt have or see my discharge papers,
It shouldnt matter when applying for a savings account, as they APPARENTLY dont do a credit check, although i think they do!0 -
From the Money Advice Service website (and referenced from the YBS website)...bradztheman wrote: »No, ybs didnt have or see my discharge papers,

...so if your CRA file shows you are still not discharged you may as well stop applying for current accounts...and the YBS Cash Transactor *is* a pseudo current account...a pseudo basic bank account. Please note that if you are an undischarged bankrupt, meaning you are probably within the first year of a bankruptcy order having been made, at present your basic bank account option is limited to Barclays.

They will search for bankruptcy. If the CRA 's are showing you still as bankrupt then you will continue to be declined.0 -

I thought the cash transactor was a savings account??
And it doesnt say anything about a credit check :-s
No other discharged bankrupts have reported that they have been declined either :-s
I find it strange that natwest or ybs both savings accounts cant discus why ive been declined either :-s0 -
You can set up SOs and pay DDs. Like I said, it's a pseudo basic bank account.bradztheman wrote: »I thought the cash transactor was a savings account??
They say they'll make enquiries to verify your ID. Like I've told you before, they do this by making an unrecorded enquiry of your CRA file(s) which will reveal 'public information' such as bankruptcy, CCJs, CIFAS markers, ER status, linked addresses, etc.And it doesnt say anything about a credit check :-s
In the whole of the UK?...or from a quick scan of these boards? No other discharged bankrupts have reported that they have been declined either :-s
Maybe I haven't kept up, but very recently you said the CRAs had you down as undischarged. But you're now saying that they (all three of them, and despite the Xmas holidays) have you down as discharged?
You seem to have dodged the question above, so here it is again...requiring a simple yes/no reply...
Do Experian, Equifax, and CallCredit all show you as a discharged bankrupt?
And did they at the time of the YBS application/CRA search?
The YBS Cash Transactor account is, technically, a basic bank account. I seem to remember that NatWest (or RBS [same group]?) were one of the creditors listed in your bankruptcy? I also seem to remember that your bankruptcy was showing as undischarged when you applied (and were subsequently declined) for their savings account.I find it strange that natwest or ybs both savings accounts cant discus why ive been declined either :-s
It's all a bit cloudy isn't it?0 -

Have you sent off your SARs yet?0 -
For info, Natwest/RBS are totally unconnected with YBS.0
