When you are done moaning remember that there are people who would love to have your standard of living!0 -
I hope you are emotionally prepared to cook another turkey.
We've laughed our heads off at this. I fear whenever we're cooking anything new now at Chez Duchy there will be concerns vocalized at the emotional preparedness of the chef to take such a massive step.......

I'm sorry your turkey went AWOL but IMO Waitrose did offer you a feasible alternative, not really their fault you were emotionally unprepared to cook it.
Personally, I would've asked (as I'm a cheeky so and so) could I have selected a different joint or could they provide some extras but certainly wouldn't go after compensation!
We had a top rump of beef and it was lovely and took less than 90 minutes to cook0 -
Thanks for giving me a laugh, I really needed that at the moment.
I would have loved a free turkey, especially a Waitrose one. Instead we made do with one bought on Xmas Eve heavily reduced. We've never cooked one before, but it's about as easy as it could be.
There are people going hungry out there, flooded out, or still cleaning their homes out from the previous floodings a few weeks ago.
I really hope this isn't a troll in a way, as can not believe how insensitive it their comments are ( I know this is what a troll does).
Us ourselves have counted ourselves as lucky. We had food for Christmas and company. We appreciate our cheap turkey, as to be honest a couple of days before xmas my husband lost his job. He's the main breadwinner and that cheap turkey will ensure that we have meat for a large part of January.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -

OP just did that and got a stuffed breast joint with the compliments of Waitrose, nevertheless OP felt deserving of additional compensation.PennyForThem wrote: »Took a stuffed breast but not the same. They did not charge and for that credit.0 -
What a pathetic thread. Think the OP needs to grow up.January GC: £64.81/£80.00
February GC: £24.60£80.000 -
If you want to cook a troll in time for new years then it really needs to be stuffed tonight and put in the oven tomorrow on 150 degrees.0

Has anyone tried the MSE 4 Troll Roast ? They were giving them away in Waitrose today.0

Compensation? Seriously.... I nearly choked on my cider, I think the OP should compensate me... I could have died!
I've just been emotional distressed over my local hospital cancelling my surgery in December with a lie of an excuse, but I'm not expecting them to compensate me - although a free turkey would have been nice!0
