Live once, you were blocked when you had that dig at me last night, I wouldnt waste your time trying to be an internet gangster, sure you've got something better to be doing with your right hand, dont waste the energy, save it for someone who gives a toss.

Sorry, maybe toss was the wrong word to use.

You know you've made it when you have your own internet stalker. Bless.

How are you feeling emotionally? I hope you don't feel like waitrose took your stuffed de-boned turkey away from you and gave you a regular free turkey.

Why do people insist on leaving meat buying until Xmas Eve ? Don't they have freezers ? I bought my meat (fillet steak and pork) in November. Xmas Eve, take out of freezer, hey presto, meat for Xmas Day.

Some people make things difficult for themselves, haven't stressed over Xmas for years, never will. If i don't have it, i don't have it, there's always beans on toast.

Can't answer it myself, even having a plan B is a good alternative in case you dont get the turkey.

To be fair a lot of people prefer fresh meat for Christmas ....however that said I never pick mine up later than the 23rd as I'm lucky enough to have a fridge so it'll keep for at least 2 days before cooking it. I suppose without a fridge it might be trickier.
My aim is to have everything bought by the end of 23rd at latest - Christmas eve is an early morning trip to the bakers as soon as I wake up for fresh bread- then in for the rest of the day snuggled up or last minute wrapping, bit of baking etc. This year I worked from home from 2pm to 11pm so everything HAD to be done anyway before 2pm.

Does anyone these days not have a fridge ? Even in a fridge for 2 days, meat can go off. See the other "my Xmas is ruined what compo should i get" thread !

I always unwrap and sniff mine ......if it smelt off I'd still have Christmas eve to deal with any issues.
Meat doesn't go off in a fridge in two days -it would have smelt odd the day you bought it too unless there was a problem with the fridge.

Not sure I can take another "My Christmas was ruined" thread - especially after seeing how some people's were genuinely ruined a few miles from here with no power and then flooded out.

Stop now just stop, can't stop laughing. This thread just hilarious. Does no one buy meat if needed 2 weeks in advance. I did lamb BTW bought the sat 14th cos it was on offer at tesco. But if I had needed fresh meat (int that the name of a song? ) I would have gone nearest shop ( tesco metro, morrisons, sainsbury) and got whatever they had cheapest. And my family and guests would have praised to the roof my cooking prowess and choice of food. Or they would not eat again/never be invited again. Or possibly be made to wash up, always a good punishment. Still too emotional to cook turkey, .............. Oh no that's it, no one likes turkey!

People stuff their fridges at Xmas time, meat can go off if the fridge isn't running at the correct temperature, which can happen if there is too much stuff in there. Much better to freeze it on the day and defrost when needed. No need to worry then.
