Going slowly, but I've added a squirrel to the Flickr group. I need to get faster if I am going to keep up with everyone on here!
The squirrel has been sent off to Cumbria to take part in the Woollen Woods art installation at Sizergh Castle - hopefully he will be sitting on a branch outdoors for several months up there.

What a wonderful project I had to google it as I hadn't heard about it - this is one of the stories about it http://www.tulliehouse.co.uk/events/woollen-creations-required

Have been missing in action for some time, but the knitted cushion cover is finished and is an failure.......it is a bit too big for the pad and the pad slips around inside it. Buttons too small so pop out of the button holes. Both solvable, but I was a bit disheartened.
Various botanical watercolours done on course, varying degrees of success, but as i had never used watercolours before I am quite happy with them as examples of learning a new technique.
Jumper nearly finished......should get finished this weekend I think. I bought myself some new trousers yesterday (I HATE shopping, so this is a very rare event) and the jumper's colours are going to look great with them.
Not much time for craftyness today, but tomorrow afternoon is currently earmarked for something creative.
Savvy, sorry to hear about your ankle injury, hope it gets better soon.

shame about the cushion cover but as you say both issues can be fixed relatively easily and then you can include a photo in our Flickr group

This looks great and far too nice to use :D

Does your sewing machine do fancy stitches? I use the blanket stitch on my machine for applique on things that are going to be washed quite often as I think it is more hard wearing than hand stitching
I haven't hand sewn the stitched cotton patch to the tea towel - it is machine stitched. Just the embroidery was done by hand.
I have a fancy stitch sewing machine. I will have a go at using blanket stitch thanks.

    finished another of my projects
this one has been two fold, i stitched a panel to see what the chart would turn out like i want to do for my sister, and add a 'bit more' to the cushion.
i was a bridesmaid for my aunt (who was also my god mother) when i was about 6 or 7 years old. i still had the dress and after my aunt sadly deid about 15 years ago i felt it impossible to just get rid of it, my girls had used it for dressing up but the are all grown up now. It was a 60s/70s style so not something anyone would want to wear nowadays. Anyway as my mum had been very close to her sister i decided to use the dress to make something for my mum for mothers day so decided on a cushion. i spent yesterday playing with scrap fabrics and working out how best to do it. i found instructions on how to mitre panels so decided to go with that. Last night i cut all my bits out and i spent this morning putting it all togther as its quite silky fabric thats prone to fray ive lined it all with an old sheet panel. im really pleased with how its turned out and hope my mum likes it.
ive got enough left to make a small keepsake cushion for myself.
