Sorry I've been AWOL I check the forum daily but just haven't been able to post. I've not been well for 3 weeks now fed up of it, only a chest and eye infection but it does wind me done. Sorry to moan when I know others have much worse issues.
Anyway, time for a mega catch-up.
Florenceem - your recovered chair is really nice. Think I should really refer to it as upcycled as it looks like a new chair. Your aprons are lovely, I'm sure they will be well received. Nice makes on the cards too. I keep having to scroll back to your name Florence to add more things to your entry - wow you've been busy. Your coat hangers are lovely and something I wouldn't have thought about making. Your Snow Queen costume is fab, she looks wonderful. The bag for your daughter is great as well.
dibuzz - I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I think we all feel guilty when we grieve after the loss of a pet but they are part of the family and it's a natural process to grieve so we really shouldn't beat ourselves up about it. I do hope that a few weeks on and you are feelinga bit better, at least some of the time. As they say time heals.
savvy - Your seaglass pendant is lovely and certainly doesn't look "a bit naff". I have to say I thought I had replied to your post about the seaglass but can't see it so obviously it didn't save. I think I was on the new forum style - as an aside I really don't like the new style so swapped back to the old one. Sorry to hear about your ankle, hope it's making a recovery now and you are managing some crafting.
tgroom57 - nice cards and although you say the dolls house window boxes weren't much crafting they were still some and also the building of the house was. Please don't under estimate what you can do there are many people for whom doing the window boxes would be too much.
Mrsmp - Tiger cub is grrrrreattt (sorry can;t remember how is was actually spealt - but if you are of a "certain" age you will know what I mean "Tony"). The owl is cute I'm sure your niece will appreciate it. Also like the bunny and especailly the Owl doorstop.
Sweetcarer - your Easter Exchange card is really nice and so MSE using what you had.
carlamarie - so sorry to hear about your nana. Your daughter look delighted with her skirt, what a clever Mummy.
CommuterGranny - wow to your astronaut costume it is so well made it looks like you've gone out and bough a costume.
Greentiger - your memory quilt is lovely. It's something I offered to make for my niece but she wasn't interested. I have to say I was a bit disappointed but you can't make something like this if someone doesn't want it. I like the fact that you've backed it with a fleece blanket, nice touch.
FOS - your Alphabet sampler is really nice, have you hung it yet? The appliqu! cushion is lovely, I still like to see hand made appliqu! and your stitching is so very neat.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

bmma - what a lot of knitted squares, I bet they took quite a while to knit and used a lot of stash. Your hat and scarf are lovely the shell edging is really lovely, are they a present? Your cushion cover is very nice and good idea to have the sides different you can change the mood of the room by turning the cushion over.
Florenceem - your t-towels are lovely but far too nice to actually use as t-towels I would be devastated if the stitching got stained or worse burnt. If your t-towels don't get like this then you are a far better cook than me - not that it would be hard I'm not the best in the kitchen I leave that to my hubby
Mrsmp - your vase of tulips has been stitched really quickly. You've probably finished it now. Your cushion for your mum is great - I bet she cries. Your bunting sounds good and very kind of you.
vikki-louise - I agree with Mrsmp about your blog it is really lovely, I especially like the piece about your body.
owlfan - your squirrel is lovely.
savvy - sorry to hear about your dog, I hope she is on the mend now. What are your plans for the clay pipe?
sweetcarer - your learning sampler is coming along really well and looks lovely, I do like purple. I think the album of stitches is a great idea.
mum2one - how organised are you? Christmas presetn finished already.

Finished it at 1.40am yesterday morning and framed it yesterday evening. Managed to cut the mount myself so quite please. Would have had it framed but the man that does my framing is on holiday for a month. I gave it my had last night for his birthday and he was chuffed with it. For those that don't know it was a kit my mum bought before she died. My dad had no idea I was doing it for him and has commented all the time I was stitching it that it was lovely and the colours were great. Happy bunny.

Henry and his wives is looking fab ails I don't have the patience for cross stitching unfortunately so I'm always impressed when I see something finished with so much detail.

HI AILSB yes there was a lot of squares given by different people and was glad to get them finished - the hat and scarf will probably be a stocking filler for christmas - I think your Henry is beautiful and to frame it yourself is brilliant-going to catch up on blankets for the animal shelter- and will rethink next project -love this thread-lots of talented people x:hello::coffee:Penny Pincher in training

Tea towel number 4 finished.
I bought these tea towels from Paperchased a few years ago. I had the idea of putting a stitchery on them and giving as presents as soon as I saw them in the sale. The tea towels are such lovely designs and quality.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Thanks, I still miss her like mad and can't talk about her without crying but I am getting used to her not being here.
I met 2 lovely ladies from a charity knitting forum on Thursday, I was supposed to go last month and chickened out at the last second but managed to do it this time so I've picked my needles up again.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
It takes time to come to terms with losing a pet. I still miss cats and dogs that I lost years ago. They all have different personalities.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

LOL finnily enough I found another clay pipe (well both are the bowl bits) the next visit - I think I have freaked a Polish man out that started walking his dog with mine, he looked at me very oddly when I kept bending down and picking up rubbish off the beach!!:o:rotfl: I don't really know what to do with the pipes tbh, OH has taken a real shine to them and wants to find one now lol.
