Time to tidy my craft room and move on from WBD costume bits. Need to do the dreaded HW before I start on a new make.

  • MEGA UPDATE ALERT

Have been guilty of reading and running so have lots of comments to catch up on

florenceem Your Snow Queen costume is stunning. Please include in our Flickr group - there aren't any rules about projects having to be named in advance :D

And thanks for the tutorial on how you did it - fascinating and so much more rewarding than the dreaded HW

Your golden anniversary card is lovely and I'm sure much appreciated

Beautiful covered hangers - and practical as well

greentiger love your February panel - is it done with machine embroidery ?
Whenever I have used muslin (for hand stitchery not machine embroidery) I have backed it with Vilene H640 or H630 which adds stability. Not sure if this would work on a machine though

I love your memory quilt - does each square have a special meaning?

mrsmp You makes are really cute How organised to have your Mother's Day present sorted already

commutergranny amazing costume and totally agree with your comments about the choice of hero

carlamarie So sorry to hear about your loss Your DD looks delighted with what you made

savvy Hope your ankle injury is healing although I feel your pain of not being able to put the time to best use by crafting while recovering

    sweetcarer Beautiful card

Our photos in Flickr are just brilliant - thank you everyone for taking the time to share :T

florence - what a beautiful Snow Queen!

flowerof scotland - the panel is hand embroidered. Normally I would use a vilene backing, but instead it's backed with wadding to give a slightly soft rather than crisp finish.
When I agreed to make the memory quilt I was given a huge bundle of baby clothes, some of which I was specifically asked to include. I then used as much as I needed from the rest (and there are plenty of whole garments left!) to get the required number of squares. I looked for some interesting details and incorporated these in some of the squares, e.g. a wee trouser leg which had a lovely button detail.

stitchyfeather - my grandson would love a superhero nameplate like that; it is so special

I have completed another couple of cards, so just one left to do for March, for St Patrick's Day. What I've decided to do is stitched the same way as the February panel.

I have started on my next project - again - it is not one of my 14 in 2014 list. Three years ago I made curtains for my Daughter's house - a lovely barn conversion. There was only one piece of fabric left from the lounge curtains - 9 1/2 inches long by width of material. Beautiful fabric - quite a large pattern - what to make with it was the question. Well - I have begun working on .......

Again - this is not a project from my list - so not put photo in Flickr group.
I have just finished making a Birthday present for my eldest Daughter.
Birthday is at the end of April. I had a very small amount of fabric
left from making her lounge curtains. I used some upholstery samples to make
the base and give length to the handles.
I used a cotton sheet as backing and lining & added wadding to the fabric.
I found 6 matching buttons in my stash and some cream cotton trims. She
does a bit of crochet so I thought she could use the bag in her lounge for
    storage of that craft.
It is difficult to know what to give as presents when my children have a lot
more money than me. So I go for a hand crafted gift as it is then unique.
