    Some lovely things.
I'm struggling after losing my dog, my heart's not in it any more and I haven't even picked up a hook or needle for ages. At the moment I feel like just getting rid of it all but for now will just put it all away and have a break, hopefully my hands will get bored and I'll have to start again.
Know how you feel, you just want the world to stop for a bit hey :(:( Take time out from the rat race as much as you can, you'll find your crafting mojo at some point later on and can ease back in gently :)

Okay have successfully uploaded an image of my very first attempt at wrapping sea glass. Please bear with it as I did it with fuse wire that's been wrapped around a bit of card for like at least 10 years  but I thought there was no point splashing out on silver wire if I wasn't any good at it etc ;)

There IS method to the madness sometimes - so yeah, it looks a bit naff as it's not tight to the glass, but again, no point faffing too much.............erm in case we blow a fuse and need the wire :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

So I feel confident enough to invest in proper things now, and hopefully get the confidence to make a wedding tiara :o

Photo tomorrow of apron I made today - fabric from my stash. Got a second apron cut out and ready to sew. I am thinking of making three - as my Mum would say - 1 on - 1 off - 1 in the wash. I will keep my new aprons for cooking and use my old ones for mucky jobs.

I think it looks lovely. Great idea to practice in that way

Savvy I think the seaglass looks lovely - and it's practical too - like you say if a fuse blows... ;)

Savvy - love the sea glass make.
I have put a photo of the apron I made in the Flickr group. I used a poly/cotton print from my stash. As it is thin fabric I lined the apron with a white poly/cotton - again - from the mighty stash.
One Christmas - I made aprons as presents. I ordered some fabric from the bay of E - lovely Amy Butler designs - presents were well received.

You could make a whole range of "pretty but practical" jewellery made with fuse wire that can be dismantled in times of emergency - earrings, bracelets etc... I'm sure there's other "practical" items you could turn into pretty jewellery? Nails & screws perhaps? Or Alan Keys, can never find those bl**dy things when you need one :rotfl:

Florence the aprons look really professional! Not surprised they were received well as gifts :D
